(Lexington, Massachusetts, United States) – The Greek Festival in Lexington, MA is scheduled to take place from September 16, 2016 to September 18, 2016 at the grounds of the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on Meriam Street in Lexington. The festival is a chance for people in the community to get together and share aspects of the Greek culture and do things such as eat Greek food, listen to traditional Greek music, and dance the typical Greek dances. There is also a marketplace where guests of the festival can shop for Greek goods. There will also be raffles and some activities that will keep the kids amused.
The festival is called “A Taste of Greece: A Festival of Flavors,” and its goal is to really highlight the Greek foods that are on the menu. As a result, festival volunteers have spent the past few months getting things ready. For those who attend the festival, the food is a major highlight and it’s what keeps people coming back year after year. There will be offering such as spanakopita, dolmades, souvlaki, and gyros as well as Greek desserts like baklava. In addition to the regular menu, there are special feature dinners on offer. On Friday, the festival will offer a special seafood dinner. On Saturday, a lamb shank dinner will be the featured dish. You can enjoy the meal at the festival or take it home.
Parking for the festival is free and there is no admission for the festival. All proceeds will benefit the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. On Friday, music will be provided by DJ Arthur Markos. On Saturday, there will be a live Greek band. Guests can enjoy the music while they eat or even get up and dance! There will also be dancing demonstrations on Saturday evening. Besides enjoying the festivities, church tours are also available.
