(Brookline, Massachusetts, United States) – The Greek festival at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Boston, Massachusetts will take place from September 16, 2016 and September 18, 2016 at the Center that is located on Goddard Avenue in Brookline, MA. This festival is a great chance for people of the Greek community and also from the surrounding area to get together and celebrate different aspects of the Greek culture. This includes eating Greek food, listening to live Greek music, enjoying traditional dancing, and even shopping for Greek products from the marketplace. There will also be activities for the kids as well as a raffle and even a taverna so that guests can enjoy their Greek foods in a traditional setting.
For most people who enjoy the festival, the main draw is the food. All the foods are authentic and are hand prepared by festival volunteers. People have the chance to enjoy foods such as lamb, souvlaki, gyros, and other specialties while they are at the festival. There will also be plenty of Greek desserts, such as koulourakia and baklava to eat. People have the choice to either eat the food at the festival or enjoy it at home. Many opt to eat a delicious Greek meal at the festival and then take some home to enjoy later!
For all those going to the festival, there will be a free shuttle that leaves from Hellenic College. The hours for the festival are from 12 PM to 11 PM on Friday, September 16, 2016, 11 AM to 11 PM on Saturday, September 17, 2016, and 12 PM to 9 PM on September 18, 2016. All proceeds from the festival will benefit the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral. The festival will take place rain or shine. The Metropolis Dance Groups will perform dancing demonstrations throughout the festival. You don’t need to be part of the group to dance, though – anyone can join!
