(Sacramento, California, United States) – Petra Greek Restaurant, which is located in the heart of downtown Sacramento, will expand by opening another location to Folsom’s Palladio at Broadstone. They will occupy the space where the San Francisco Bay Cafe was located. The cafe closed in late 2015 and had been sitting vacant until the owner of Petra Greek Restaurant decided to make the move to open a new restaurant. Petra is known in the area for serving up delicious Greek food such as gyros, spanakopita, Greek salads, and popular desserts such as baklava. They will also open in a second location in Golden 1 Center.

The restaurant owners have had their eye on expansion for several years, it just hadn’t been the right time. According to Michael Raptakis, the general manager of the Sacaramento location, they first stated looking at Folsom’s Palladio four years ago. Upon analysis, they determined that the area wasn’t getting enough traffic. Times have changed, making this a great time to expand. Petra isn’t the only upcoming project at Folsom’s Palladio. They are simply one of many, including a Barnes and Noble’s book shop, a movie theater, and a Brazilian restaurant.

Petra Greek Restaurant is devoted to sharing the Greek culture with its guests through their family recipes and home cooking. By serving traditional Greek favorites, they are able to give their guests a taste of what Greece is all about. They also understand how important it is to source their products, such as their produce, locally. Diners are able to enjoy Greek foods such as gyros, tzatziki, saganaki, and souvlaki. They also serve American classics, such as hamburgers, all at affordable prices. The Sacramento restaurant is located on 16th Street in downtown, near the state buildings. The new locations will have the same devotion to delivering quality food at reasonable prices. The Sacramento location is a curbside restaurant, and is also a vital part of Sacramento’s nightlife. It’s often open past 3 AM! They also have special rates during Happy Hour. Check the website for hours, events, and specials.
