(Redondo Beach, California, United States) – The South Bay Greek Festival in Redondo Beach, California will take place this weekend from Friday, July 15, 2016 to Sunday, July 17, 2016. For people in the Redondo Beach area, this festival is an event that gives people chance to experience the Greek culture.
Those who attend the Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church find that they not only have a chance to spend time with their friends and family, but it also gives them a chance to share their culture with people in the surrounding area. For those who attend the event, being able to eat authentic Greek food, listen to live Greek music, and experience other aspects of the Greek culture are amongst the highlights. There are also events for the kids and also an opportunity to shop for Greek goods at the festival marketplace. The food, however, is a clear highlight of the festival. Festival volunteers have been making their preparations to give their guests delicious food for the past few months. Top menu items include Greek specialty dishes such as gyros, lamb, spanakopita, and souvlaki as well as Greek desserts like baklava. The festival will take place at the grounds of the Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Redondo Beach, California at 722 Knob Hill Avenue. Admission is $2 a day but there is a coupon available online to print out that gives free admission on Saturday, July 16 or Sunday, July 17. Seniors will have a $1 admission and children under 12 years old are free. Festival hours are 5-10 PM on Friday, July 15, Noon – 10 PM on Saturday, July 16, and Noon – 9 PM on Sunday, July 17. All proceeds will benefit the Saint Katherine Orthodox Church and will help the parish meet its daily expenses.
