(Melbourne, Australia) – Kayla Itsines, a Greek-Australian entrepreneur, personal trainer, and owner of the Bikini Training Company, broke five Guinness Book of World Records on November 17, 2016 with over 2000 of her online followers. Itsines, her fellow participants, and officials from the Guinness Book of World Records met at Olympia Park in Melbourne to make an attempt at breaking those records. They succeeded. Here’s a look at the records they broke in less than one hour:
- Most people performing star jumps with 2192 participants.
- Most people running on the spot simultaneously with 2195 participants.
- Most people doing sit-ups simultaneously with 2005 participants.
- Most people performing lunges with 2146 participants.
- Most people performing squats with 2201 participants.
Kayla Itsines recently made the BRW Young Rich 2016 list. She was ranked 4th amongst those Greek-Australians who made the list and was also placed at number 51 overall. She was also only one of eight women. Her success is due to the fact that she found a huge need within the fitness community and women all over the world have used her program to help them get healthy and develop fit bodies.
On her website, Itsines has said that, “My journey began in 2008, when I started a personal training course at the Australian Institute of Fitness. After graduation, I took a job at a “women’s only” personal training centre in Adelaide, Australia. I soon realized, the methods I was instructed to use often fell short or did not provide the results the client was aspiring to achieve.”
She really listened to the needs of her clients. They expressed wanting flat abs, toned arms, and skinny thighs. She developed a healthy program of eating and exercising that challenged women but also didn’t represent a big time commitment. As word of her clients’ success grew, so did her company. On her website she also says that, “I hope to inspire you to be the best you can be.” Women all over the world have benefited from her program.
