(Toronto, Canada) – On Tuesday, May 17, 2016, Metropolitan Sotirios invited all the Eastern Orthodox and Pre-Chalcedonian priests and hierarchs serving the Greater Toronto Area to the Easter Meeting/Luncheon that our Holy Metropolis hosts every year. Among the clergymen participating were His Grace Bishop Andriy and His Grace Bishop Christoforos.
The event begins with a condensed Matins Service that is performed according to Orthodox rubrics. The event continues with a presentation and discussion session. This year, the presenter was His Eminence Metropolitan Sotirios who spoke on the topic: “Democracy in the Orthodox Church – Holy and Great Synod of the Orthodox to be held in Crete in June 2016.” A luncheon followed the presentation and the meeting continued with a round-table discussion on matters of mutual concern.
Twenty-five clergymen of a variety of ethnic backgrounds participated in this year’s event and thanked Metropolitan Sotirios for hosting it and for making every effort to promote good cooperation among all Christians.
