Greek Canadian Band Motion Device Funds Next Album Through Kickstarter

(Canada) – Motion Device, a Greek-Canadian ban featuring three Greek Canadians, siblings Sara, Andrea, and David Menoudakis, as well as their cousin Josh Marrocco, announce that their Kickstarter campaign to fund their next album has been successful. Their next album, titled Wide Awake, is to be a concept album in the old rock style popularized by rock legends such as Ozzy Osbourne and Led Zeppelin. The album is scheduled to have two solid hours of music and will be arranged to tell a cohesive story.

According to their Kickstarter page, the band decided to receive independent funding for their album when they realized that they didn’t want to be part of the traditional music industry. They wanted to create the album they envisioned and independent funding will allow them to use their own creativity without answering to a large record company. To help fund their campaign, they turned to their fans for help. The Kickstarter went live in January of 2017 and after a few months campaigning, they reached their goal.

Motion Device began as a project between the four family members. They began posting their music on Youtube by covering their favorite rock hits from artists like Alice Cooper, Steve Vai, and Zakk Wylde. As their channel gained popularity, so did their band. They eventually branched out and began creating original hits. The band is excited to record their next EP. Their first EP, titled Welcome to the Rock Revolution, debuted in 2014. Their fans loved the originally material so they released their second album, Eternelize, in 2015.

The band described their third album on their Kickstarter page by saying, “This new album will push the boundaries for everyone involved because it’s so much bigger than the previous projects. Our sound has really matured over the last couple of years and we can’t wait to record the new material. The fact that it’s a double-CD concept album will make the ride that much more interesting for both us and the fans.”
