(Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) – The Greek Summer Festival in Vancouver, British Columbia will be taking pace over a ten day period from July 7, 2016 to July 17, 2016. This annual festival is celebrating its 30th year and this year promises to be one of the best yet! This is a chance for members of the community, Greeks and non-Greeks alike, to get together and experience the Greek culture. There will be Greek food, entertainment, music, and more. More than 40,000 people each year attend this festival and this year promises to be no different.
The two highlights of the festival are both the food and the entertainment. However, the food is one of the most anticipated parts! Festival gets have a chance to sample some classic Greek foods such as gyro sandwiches, souvlaki, lamb, tiropita and Greek fries. There will also be plenty of Greek desserts to enjoy such as bougatsa, baklava, and loukoumades. You can also enjoy coffees such as traditional Greek coffee and frappe. Other beverages, such as Canadian coffees, will also be available.
As far as entertainment goes, guests will enjoy watching the belly dancing performances, Greek folk dancers, and there will even be an Elvis impersonator to add to the fun of the event! The festival also celebrates other cultures, and events such as a Polynesian dance group are also listed on the schedule, which can be found on the website.
People can also participate in a raffle for things like a trip for two to Greece as well as a flat screen television. Admission to the festival is free and it is located at 4641 Boundary Road in Vancouver.
