A poll was sent to me asking:
Should the United States formally recognize the World War I-era killing of Armenians as genocide?
Naturally I voted YES. But was shocked that only 22% agreed!?

Those are the results when I took this poll - I hope we can tip the scale by showing our support!

I thank you too!! I hope more people vote!
Hi Andrew - I'm not sure I understand what you mean by: ..the use of the (term?) genocide... by the Democrats seems a bit low politically...?
Am I correct in that even though you believe that the genocide happened, you are concerned with what might be seem as an insult or betrayal to the Turkish from the U.S.?
"Patriotis" - Do you not believe that the genocide happen?
If not, then where did all those people go?
You ask a good question, the Turks shouldn't be sore about this. They should be like the Germans... They admitted to the jewish genocide by the Nazis, and put the whole issue behind them, The Turks are perpetuating the issue by denying the genocide even happened.
Hassan - you have made many inaccurate comments in this discussion, but you are correct only about my Sincerity...
I am Sincerely proud of my rich Heritage, I am Sincerely humbled by my Greek Orthodoxy, I am Sincerely awed by the vast contributions to the world Hellenism has made in areas of Art, Philosophy, Architecture, Literature, Democracy, Science, Mathematics just to name a few.
I am however suspicious of your sincerity in joining a Hellenic site intended to bring together Greeks and Philhellenes from around the world. I can't understand if you thought you might find an unintelligent person to believe your unsubstantiated and antagonistic words. However, I can understand the Envy and attempt to claim the beautiful and abundant culture of Hellas. The passionate replies you received show the depth of the Hellenic heart and intelligence that has always and will continue to exist in our people. Whether harassed, oppressed, robbed, invaded, murdered, hung or raped our Fire can not be extinguished.
Propaganda strikes again ! :) :) :)
if its non of my business , then who's business is it ? considering the fact that your on a greek community .
its not about you as a turk being on a greek forum. I said , this is a greek forum , whats going on here is my business , so is it everybody elses business.

If someone doesnt agree with you doesnt give you the right to say its non of their business. Freedom of speech , learn it , embrace it !
its my right not to accept your friendship. as it is my right to say your comments are pure propaganda.

You just cannot accept anything different except your vision or something close to yours. Define logic ? You learn history from turkish books , now thats neutral ! :) lets all buy those books cause thats the truth !! Let me guess , the PKK are terrorist too , right ? :)

How logical .

You ,an enemy ? :D dont make me laugh romeo . someday your long distance relationship will work ;)
first of all , i studied history in belgium. But thats no good either , right ? :) Only turkish history books are right...

Second , my oppinion is what was bothering you. A normal person would say " Ok Marco , thats your oppinion , I dont agree with it " . But you ...

You talk about discussing and sharing oppinions and you cant even accept ONE persons view on the matter :)

You cant accept criticism ? Then dont bother discussing either.

Racism ... Good one :)
Patriotis I would ask to please refrain from using profanities towards other members of WWG. Telling your opinion is one thing and its an element of democracy which we are all abide to, but using offensive language is a failure towards democracy and it's offensive to other people's freedom.

Thank you,

If the armenian genocide never happened...why dont we call adolf hitler a hero? the war between Greece and Turkey still goes on today. I am a pontian and i can tell you for one thing that it has happened. From the stories from my grand parents and my parents to the historical sites from where i stay today in greece. It is amazing on how corrupt a topic such as this can be. Just like Alexander the Great not being greek. We should just say that why is there a muslim as a president of the U.S.
