A poll was sent to me asking:
Should the United States formally recognize the World War I-era killing of Armenians as genocide?
Naturally I voted YES. But was shocked that only 22% agreed!?
Those are the results when I took this poll - I hope we can tip the scale by showing our support!
If the armenian genocide never happened...why dont we call adolf hitler a hero? the war between Greece and Turkey still goes on today. I am a pontian and i can tell you for one thing that it has happened. From the stories from my grand parents and my parents to the historical sites from where i stay today in greece. It is amazing on how corrupt a topic such as this can be. Just like Alexander the Great not being greek. We should just say that why is there a muslim as a president of the U.S.
How can they deny it? If they come to greece themselves they will see their answer, and if they refuse to believe it, i dont think they will be able to make it out of greece alive. And yes muslims, what can you expect from them where the men put themselves ahead of their wives even when married.
Its truly a shame that there has been a seriously huge misunderstanding amongst ourselves. I feel we made a spectacle of ourselves. Wish we would see that at the bottom line our intentions are the same - true patriotism towards Hellas. We just all show it in a different way without one way being better than the other. Instead of being distracted from the overall message by these differences, we should use them to compliment and balance each other.
Instead of the extreme of "name calling" which derails focus, causing one to see words not the message and the other extreme of being "too P.C." which compromise one's morals and dilutes a message, we could balance polite forcefulness for an even more powerful message. Or more concisely put... Pan metron ariston.
Hi Dee - don't withdraw yourself from open communication..it'll be stale and boring! I feel if you surround yourself with same thinking people, thoughts and comments are just recycled. There no room for exciting brainstorms and growth. This is where looking past our rough edges or differences pays off!
An example... More than 10 years ago when our church wanted to start a young adult group, I was paired with someone who was the COMPLETE opposite from me in every way possible. I was actually pretty pissed off with this forced assignment and felt sure this would go nowhere. But when we peeled away the layers and saw our intentions were the same, we really soared! And it was BECAUSE of our differences that we were so successful - we inspired and complimented each other.
She is now one of my oldest friends and I recently even Baptized her son.... just my experience...
Hassan - Yes, we have argued amongst ourselves.
But as history has proven, we snap into place shoulder to shoulder - united and strong.
I would welcome this imperfection that the many imperfections your people have.....
You continue to prove you are barbarians, unsophisticated, uneducated, savages that infect all you touch.
So, if you have nothing else to get you off, feel free, but know that at our worst we are 100 times better then at your best.
