The Hellenic American Academy was founded in 1906 in Lowell, Massachusetts. This Greek Orthodox school became the first of its kind in America and is currently the oldest school of its kind in America. The school consists of Pre-K beginning with three year olds all the way up to grade 8.

In March, the the George D. and Margo Behrakis Gallery, a wing at the the Boston Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) welcomed a 13-foot marble sculpture of the goddess Juno. Due to its enormous size, the sculpture was airlifted into the gallery through an opening made in the roof.
