Theres been others but not quite like this....
What is Nameless Kx?
In todays hip hop genre, there are many things we have come to accept as the norm.
Flashing lights, big wheels, diamond encrusted paraphernalia, drug dealing rhetoric, along with the typical “Im a G” proclaimations.
From the Kanye West’s to the Soujlia Boy’s, its clear that todays hip hop is more so about entertainment then it is about art. Some see this an example of the degeneration of the culture while others feel it is the advancement of what was once street corner ciphers to a viable and profitable mainstream musical genre.
What then can be said about artists who express themselves outside of the common clichés of todays hip hop genre? Some would call them old school others would call them the underground hip hop scene.
Enter Nameless Kx. A break from the mold.
What’s his name? Nameless? What’s that?
Well, here is what we do know. This artist has just begun emerging on the national scene from almost out of thin air.
His chosen stage name; no name. His chosen image, no image (literally).
He is Canadian talent and claims heritage from Greece.
With two mixtapes under his belt and an upcoming album debut, this artist has already begun stirring the pot with his version of the track “Forever’ by fellow Toronto native Drake. The track which is no sense flattering to its original creator and several others is now in heavy rotation in the underground rap stream. College radio has picked it up and it recently caught the attention of the mainstream.
As far as we can tell he associates himself in No way with today’s common hip hop reality. Materialism doesn’t seem to be his aim, yet he seems to understand the tactics of soft power desemination through his message.
His myspace page www.myspace.com/namelesskxhome features tracks with the likes of the Outlawz and his top friends seem to embody the who’s who’s of “real talk” rap.
Our attempts at consolidating a telephone interview were unsuccessful as our only reference to the artist was through his myspace.
We did however receive a message thanking us for the interview opportunity and re assuring us that yes an album is on the way and more details regarding Nameless Kx and the label Eastblock Recordz will be available in the near future.
When asked about features and an official video, were were told that there will be some very surprising features and video will definitely be a part and parcel of album promotion.
Until then you can check out the myspace for new tracks n other material.
