(London, England) – The Mosaic Odysseys exhibition, which features several prominent mosaic artists, many of whom have come from Greece, will take place through Saturday, July 23, 2016 in London, England at the Hellenic Center at 16-18 Paddington Street. This exhibit focuses on the works of a total of eleven mosaic artists who have created an exhibition that was inspired by the hero from Greek Mythology, Odysseus. The artists include Artemis Klitsi, Vasso Spanou, Ioannis Touliatos. The goal of each of these artists has been to create a unique interpretation under the theme, Mosaic Odysseys. Admission is free for this exhibit and it will run from 11 AM to 4 PM today, July 23.
The exhibit has been running since July 19, 2016, and today is its last day at the Hellenic Center. However, it will be running at different locations off and on for the next few months. From September 9, 2018 to September 18, 2016 it will be shown at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation in Athens and it will also go from September 23 – October 3 in Mykonos. If you happen to be in Greece during these times, this is a great thing to do.
According to the official website for the Mosaic Odysseys Exhibition, “We are 11 talented mosaic artists from Greece and the UK, who are collaborating together to create an amazing festival of mosaics. The festival will be taking place during the Summer of 2016 in London, Athens and Mykonos.Each mosaic maker will be exhibiting new mosaic work inspired by their own personal interpretation of the theme Mosaic Odysseys. Please come join us on our Mosaic Journey!” The exhibit is a collaborative affair between several multinational artists.
The Hellenic Center is located at 16-18 Paddington in London, England. The Center is run by the Hellenic Community Trust and is a registered charity. The Center is dedicated to promoting Hellenism in the U.K. and runs many programs and exhibits throughout the year.
