(Chester, England, United Kingdom) – Olive Tree Brasserie, a restaurant group in the United Kingdom that specializes in Greek cuisine, has noticed that there is a big demand for Greek restaurants in the U.K. As a result of that, they have opened several restaurants throughout England, with the most recent being in Chester, which is located in the North of England. Although Dean Wilson, the restaurant group’s founder, initially tried to raise the funds for the Chester location using Crowdfunding, the campaign was unsuccessful. He ended up raising the money to open that location himself, and so far, the response for that location has been favorable.
Olive Tree Brasserie first opened in Saint Anne’s in Lancashire back in 2007. Besides the new Chester location, they also have a restaurant in Preston. According to the official website for the restaurant group, the Preston location has been open since 2014. The website says, “Opened November 2014, located in the heart of Preston is our second site, located on church street just a short walk up from the high street and located in the bustling restaurant and bar area.” Each of the locations have their own unique qualities, but they all have the shared mission of sharing modern Greek cuisine with the people of England.
Dean Wilson has said that he is making plans to expand the business even further, but he does admit that expansion may not happen as quickly as he would like. He has said that he is thinking of opening up a branch of the Olive Tree Brasserie in Manchester, England next year. However, he has said that opening the Chester branch was a big move for the company and a positive step in the right direction because it enables the restaurant to compete with some of the bigger chance, which is a good move for the company.
