Look for Look for hotels in Kalambaka, it's a xorio at the base. You can also find airbnb's there.

Visiting Anthony Quinn bay in Rhodes

Some people prefer the stone beaches, you don't have to deal with sand in your suit, in your frappe and in your bits and pieces!!

What is your favorite Greek seafood dish?

Smelts and Atherina are actually not exactly the same thing. Smelts are the closest thing in the US to the Atherina but it's a different species of fish. It's like calling a fish caught off the coast of California, 'tsipoura' :) Close, but not exactly the same.

Ideas for socially distanced Greek Easter games

I think keeping socially distanced during Greek Easter, especially after it being cancelled last year, is going to be hard. What about a pinata?

How can I have a COVID safe baptism?

Actually, I attended a Greek orthodox wedding outdoors in Rhode Island last year by the beach! Apparently it is possible but you have to find a priest willing to setup an altar outside. Not sure exactly what this involves but I know it's possible.

Was the sneaker company Nike named after the Greek goddess?

I just had this conversation with my son the other day so we did some research! Apparently the original name was going to be Dimension 6 until one of the founders suggested naming it after the Goddess Nike, specifically because her presence symbolized victory!

Is there gluten free food in Greece?

I second the advice on super markets and bio stores and also want to add that tavernas and most restaurants are great too. If you let them know about our allergies most of them are able/willing to fry some potatoes in separate oil and clean off the grill to cook some meat. They are starting...

How did you spend your 2020 covid Greek easter?

3 words. Drive-Thru Lamb Pickup! Since we couldn't safely gather, my father and I roasted the lamb on a spit and invited our family and friends to drive by for a plate. If they came early they got a piece cut right off the spit served to them on a plastic fork :) It wasn't the same but it made...

    Greek Easter Traditions

Easter is the Greek Super Bow land the lamb on the spit is the MVP! My favorite tradition in my family is gathering the men (women are welcome they just don't want to hang out with us at 7am ha) building the fire and watching the lamb cook while eating mezedakia, listening to music and...

How can I avoid the swarm of tourists in Santorini?

It all depends on what you are looking for in a trip. If it's picture taking and seeing the sites I highly recommend May. It's beautiful, the weather is warm but not unbearable and you can even swim that time of year!

Which do you like better Tiropita or Spanakopita and why?

They are both ok but why does everyone always forget about the unsung hero of pita. The Kreatopita AKA the ManOpita as my family calls it. Meat, Greek spices an Phyllo, what else can anyone want!! If you haven't tried it your missing out!

Traveling to Greece 2021 what can I expect?

I have a flight booked to Greece for a month this August and I'm trying to plan out the vacation. Beyond the mask requirements that I'm sure will be in place, I'm wondering how many businesses have survived the lockdown? Will there still be lots of little shops in tourist centers like...

Is the baklava cheesecake worth the hype?

There is nothing authentic about baklava cheesecake. I say skip the cheesecake it's just a distraction, stick to a good old fashioned AUTHENTIC baklava. If your missing the cheese part, have it with a feta chaser haha
