Same here. It's one of the experiences that made me fall in love with Crete. I did the hike and then spent some time in the village below. Ate a delicious meal at the taverna and then spent a few hours lounging on the black sand beach. Took a nice nap and got some sun. Oh yes, and I drank fresh...

I have heard this, but I have been to Crete during this time of year. That sounds so fun! Maybe some day I will be able to go to Crete when the skiing is still going on.

This palace is also highly underrated. When people think Minoan, they automatically assume Knossos, but there are other Minoan palaces on the island like Phaistos that are worth checking out.

This is one thing that stood out to me while I was in Crete. I bumped into a folk dance performance in Old Town Chania and the costumes were gorgeous. Someone told me later that they were handmade and hand embroidered. Stunning.
