Having worked in Tourism Industry for many years I am sceptical about the type of data....the most interesting take for me is the average spending per trip which is so low!....by this I mean should all the high end Greek destinations are excluded Greece is an extremely affordable and excellent place to visit and more importantly should any one have additional time and can afford to spend their spare cash..... Greece is the word!❤️❤️..
Not surprised US inbound figures are so positive!.....and will be even better this coming season!!

Anything to actually do in Piraeus?

I am traveling to Greece this summer and flying into Athens. I will spend a few days there, then head out for a cruise. I am trying to figure out where to stay. When I ask, no one tells me to stay in Piraeus, which would be the most convenient option. Is there a reason no one is stying near Piraeus? Or am I missing something?

So far, I am thinking of booking a hotel by the Acropolis - but I want to consider all my options.

Breaks 12-month Short-term Rentals Record.

Yes that's all well and good....the downside to this as is all over the European destinations that there aren't any rentals available for locals, the rents are extortionate, the areas once neighbourly don't exist anymore!.....And with it arrives inferior quality travellers!

Visit Aegina for a Few Nights?

I know that when in Athens, it is an easy ferry ride to Aegina. One can easily do the outing in a day ... but is that really wise? It seems like Aegina is a great place to visit and that there is actually a lot to do there.

I mean, I love the beach, so I can send a whole day at one beach alone.

My question is, do you think it is a good idea to spend like 3 nights or so there? I think it seems like a nice, quiet retreat. Since I have never been, at this point I am just speculating.

Is it scary to drive in Greece?

I have heard some horror stories of driving in Greece, but many of these stories took place in cities like Athens. Is this observation true?

The reason why I am asking is because I am going to be visiting Tinos soon and would like to rent a car to explore the island. I heard that this was a fantastic way to get around. Tinos is small, and to me this means the driving might not be bad.

I had a bad driving experience in Italy while in Rome, but once leaving Rome and entering the countryside it was totally fine. I'm hoping Greece is like this, too!

Favorite islands in the Cyclades?

What are your favorite islands to visit in the Cyclades? I have been to Santorini and Mykonos many times, but I want to branch out and was thinking of visiting Tinos next time I am in Greece. Has anyone ever been to Tinos, Naxos, Antiparos, or any of the others and have any advice for me? I will be in Santorini for a little bit but then I would want to take a ferry to somewhere else.
