I’m in the research phase for my next trip to Greece, and Rhodes is one of the top contenders on my list. I’d love to explore a mix of history, nature, and good food—plus a little beach time, of course!

If you’ve been to Rhodes, what would you recommend for a well-rounded 4-day stay? I’m wondering if it’s best to base myself in one place like Rhodes Town or Lindos, or if it’s worth moving around. Are there certain sites or villages that are absolute musts? And how easy is it to get around. Should I rent a car or rely on public transport?

I’d really appreciate any sample itineraries, favorite spots, or tips you’ve picked up from past visits. Thank you so much!

I live on Rhodes . So, I suggest you stay in Faliraki. it has great beaches. some busy others quiet .good tavernas & bars. from there its easy to get to Rhodes town & Lindos by bus. Buses are frequent .

Rhodes is a fantastic choice. Tt really does offer the perfect mix of history, nature, beaches, and food. For a 4-day trip, I’d recommend basing yourself in Rhodes Town. It’s vibrant, walkable, and full of medieval charm — the Old Town alone can fill a full day with the Palace of the Grand Master, Street of the Knights, and endless cafes and shops.

Perhaps spend Day 2 exploring Lindos? The Acropolis is stunning, and the views over the whitewashed village and bay are unforgettable. You can stay there, but for just 4 days, a day trip is usually enough. Renting a car makes everything easier and gives you the freedom to visit beautiful beaches like Tsambika or more remote villages like Monolithos or Embonasfor wine and mountain views.

stupid taverna review

Just read a review for a taverna in monolithos on Rhodes .The writer stated they had the best mousaka on the whole of Rhodes. They could not possibly been to every taverna on the island .I cannot make that claim & I have been on Rhodes for over 16 years

Ways to enjoy nature in Rhodes?

Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip to Rhodes soon and while I’m excited for the beaches and historical sites, I’d also love to connect with the natural side of the island. I know Rhodes is more than just medieval walls and crystal-clear water—so I’m wondering:

What are your favorite ways to enjoy nature in Rhodes?

Are there any scenic hikes, quiet walking trails, or nature reserves you’d recommend? I’ve heard of places like the Valley of the Butterflies and Seven Springs, but I’m open to hidden gems too—lush areas, mountain drives, peaceful beaches off the beaten path, or even botanical gardens or scenic outlooks.

I’m not necessarily looking for adrenaline adventures—just ways to unwind and take in the island’s natural beauty.
