Any good hikes in Mykonos?

I love the beach, but I might need a break one of the days I plan to be in Mykonos. My travel plans are still not solidified so I am not 100% sure I am even going this year, but I wanted to gather information anyway.

I’ve heard there might be some scenic trails or quieter spots that most tourists miss. Does anyone know of good hikes with great views, especially around sunrise or sunset, that aren’t super crowded? Ideally, something 1–3 hours long, moderate difficulty, and with interesting landscapes (like hidden coves, old windmills, or Mediterranean scrub). Bonus if there’s a nice taverna or beach at the end where I can grab a drink or snack.

If I go, I’ll have a rental car or scooter, so getting to trailheads shouldn’t be a problem. You can recommend them off the beaten track for sure - that's actually what I am looking for...

If you end up heading to Mykonos, you’re in luck—there are some lovely offbeat trails that offer a peaceful break from the beach crowds. One favorite is the Agios Sostis to Fokos hike: about 2 hours round‑trip, with wild Mediterranean vegetation and a gorgeous hidden cove at Fokos Beach where you can relax afterward. There’s a taverna right by the cove—perfect for a sunset drink.

Another option is the windmill ridge walk between Chora and Ano Mera. It’s roughly 1½–2 hours, moderate difficulty, with classic Mykonos windmills and sweeping sea views. You can detour into Ano Mera for a snack at a traditional taverna before heading back.

For sunrise, try the Armenistis Lighthouse hike plus coastal loop—about 2 hours. It’s quiet early, the landscape is dramatic, and once you finish, you could drive down to Agios Sostis Beach for a morning espresso by the sea.
