I’m planning a trip to Thessaloniki and could use some advice on where to stay. I’m looking for neighborhoods that are central and convenient, but also have a great local vibe. Ideally, I’d love to be near good restaurants, cafes, and maybe some cool historical spots.

I’ve heard a bit about Ladadika and Ano Poli, but I’d love to hear more opinions on those or any other areas. Is there a neighborhood that offers the best of both worlds – easy access to the main attractions, but also a bit quieter for relaxing after a day of exploring?

Any suggestions on the best places to stay, or tips for finding the right neighborhood, would be much appreciated!

Thessaloniki has some great neighborhoods, and you’re on the right track with Ladadika and Ano Poli. Ladadika is perfect if you want to be in the heart of the action—full of lively restaurants, cafes, and nightlife. It’s close to the waterfront and major attractions, making it super convenient. However, it can get a bit noisy at night.

For a quieter, more local vibe, Ano Poli is fantastic. It’s the city’s old town, filled with charming, historic buildings, cobblestone streets, and amazing views. You’ll also find traditional tavernas and quieter cafes there. It’s a bit uphill but still within walking distance to central spots.

Another option is Navarinou Square, which is lively but not as touristy as Ladadika, with easy access to the White Tower and Rotunda.
