Santorini had a huge production of tomatoes, which was so big that they even have an industrial tomato museum that is open to the public. Santorini no longer exports as much tomato paste as it used to, I'm assuming because it became one of the most popular tourist hot spots in the entire world. The museum is located in the former D. Nomikos Tomato Factory, and I really suggest that you check it out!! Safe travels :)

This sounds like a really cool museum to visit. Thanks for letting me know!

Here is a glimpse of Megalochori village in Santorini

Megalochori is one of Santorini's most beautiful villages! You can't visit the island without walking around and seeing the sights. When visiting, be careful of the residents who are staying there. Santorini has had a problem with people walking on the buildings and making too much noise. Yes it is a very touristy place but there are many residents that still live there. Enjoy!

Beaches in Santorini Near a Taverna?

I know that the beach scene in Santorini is very different than the rest of Greece because of how the beaches are situated.

Do you know if any of these beaches have facilities, or maybe a nearby taverna? I am trying to plan my trip. The sand colors on Santorini beaches are unique and I feel I want to have a few beach days while I am on the island.

Where to stay in Oia?

I loved Oia when I went a few years ago but I don't remember where I stayed. I can't track it down!

My question is - do you guys have any recommendations? Maybe this will jog my memory. In any case, I loved where I stayed, I am just not attached to it.

I would love a nice view of the caldera and a pool! The place I stayed offered both.

Best places to eat in Santorini?

I have heard horror stories about the expense of the food in Santorini.

Now, I love Santorini - it's just been a while since I've been.

I don't remember the food being pricy, and I don't remember where to go. Do you have any advice? I want to try some of the authentic Santorini foods.

Truly, it's been at least five years since I have been, if not longer.

You should try the food while in Santorini!

I recently spent some time in Santorini and my one takeaway is that the food there is fantastic, especially the tomatoes. But everything is delicious.

I have been trying to replicate a dish - "domatakeftedes" - since I enjoyed them on the island I've been wanting to make them. Does anyone know what to do?

I think the ingredients are something like this:

- Ripe tomatoes (maybe grated)
- Feta cheese - crumbled
- Chopped Fresh Herbs - parsley, mint, maybe oregano?
- Flour or bread crumbs
- Egg? (recipes I have found online - some say to use egg some leave it out)
- Oil for frying

What do you guys think?
