Hey everyone, I’ve done quite a bit of traveling in my day and I usually like to learn a few phrases in the language so that I can communicate with the locals. Do many Greeks know how to speak English? How much Greek should I learn before my trip?

They do speak English, especially in the touristed areas. They also love it when we try to speak a little Greek. I'd learn a few words, like hello, please, and thank you. You can also ask the Greeks who speak English for language advice. A simple "how do you say thank you in Greek?" People get a big kick out of teaching you a little bit of their language and their culture.

Yes! We totally know English (we're taught in school) but it doesn't hurt to try and learn some phrases :)

Do you have any car rental tips for Greece?

Hi guys! I'll be renting a car to travel around Greece and take road trips with the fam. Is there anything specific about renting cars in Greece that I should know about? Thanks :)

Travel to Crete

Does anyone know when American travelers will be permitted to enter Greece?

Celestyal Cruises

Has anyone out there ever taken a Celestyal Cruise to the Greek Islands? I'm really intrigued by the concept of taking one when I feel safe to travel. They sound like they provide more of a "Greek" flare to onboard activities than the likes of Princess or Viking cruises. They are actually booking now for May, 2021, for anyone who is interested in traveling to Greece.

Should I use credit cards or cash while traveling in Greece?

I don’t love to carry cash around when i’m traveling because i’m scared of being pickpocketed, but I know in certain countries many stores and restaurants don’t have credit card machines or they prefer cash. What is everyone's experience? And what would you recommend?
