I’m planning a trip to Thessaloniki soon and would love to hear your recommendations for things to do in this amazing city. I know it’s known for its history, food, and vibrant atmosphere, but there’s so much to choose from that I don’t know where to start!

What are your must-visit spots? Any favorite historical landmarks, museums, or neighborhoods to explore? I’ve heard the Ladadika district is great for food and nightlife—any specific restaurants or bars you love? Also, are there any off-the-beaten-path places that I shouldn’t miss? I love the vibe of Thessaloniki and plan to go soon...

Thessaloniki is a fantastic choice—you're in for an amazing time! For history, start with the White Tower for panoramic views and an introduction to the city’s past. Then, head to the Rotunda and Arch of Galerius, two iconic Roman-era landmarks. Don’t miss the Museum of Byzantine Culture for stunning artifacts and the Ano Poli (Upper Town) for a walk through cobblestone streets and breathtaking views.

The Ladadika district is perfect for food and nightlife! For dining, check out Full Tou Meze for authentic mezedes or Sempriko for a modern twist on local flavors. For cocktails, Vogatsikou 3 is a must.

Off the beaten path, visit the Kapani Market for local vibes or explore Perea Beach, just a short drive away, for a seaside escape. Don’t forget a sunset stroll along the waterfront promenade—the vibe is great.

Museums to Visit in Thessaloniki?

I'm planning a trip to Thessaloniki and I'm really excited to explore the city's rich history and culture. Can anyone recommend some must-visit museums in the area? I'm particularly interested in places that offer a mix of historical artifacts and local art. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I also wouldn't mind seeing a museum of anything different - beyond the norm. Just curious what you guys can recommend.

Best Neighborhoods to Stay in Thessaloniki

I’m planning a trip to Thessaloniki and could use some advice on where to stay. I’m looking for neighborhoods that are central and convenient, but also have a great local vibe. Ideally, I’d love to be near good restaurants, cafes, and maybe some cool historical spots.

I’ve heard a bit about Ladadika and Ano Poli, but I’d love to hear more opinions on those or any other areas. Is there a neighborhood that offers the best of both worlds – easy access to the main attractions, but also a bit quieter for relaxing after a day of exploring?

Any suggestions on the best places to stay, or tips for finding the right neighborhood, would be much appreciated!

Walking Tour Advice Thessaloniki

I’m planning a trip to Thessaloniki soon and would love to explore the city on foot to really soak in its history and culture. I’ve heard a lot about the vibrant atmosphere and the rich blend of ancient and modern sights. Does anyone have recommendations for the best walking tours or routes to take?

I'm especially interested in seeing key historical sites like the White Tower, Rotunda, and the Byzantine walls, but I’m also keen on discovering some hidden gems and local spots that aren’t too touristy. Are there any guided tours you’d recommend, or is it easy enough to navigate on my own?

Visiting Thessaloniki in Late Spring

I might visit Thessaloniki in late spring and would love some advice to make the most of my visit. I’ve heard that the weather is perfect around this time—not too hot, but warm enough to enjoy the city’s outdoor charm. Are there any must-see attractions or hidden gems I should prioritize? I’m especially interested in exploring historical sites, walking along the waterfront, and sampling local cuisine.

Speaking of food, are there any restaurants, tavernas, or markets you’d recommend? I’d love to try authentic dishes like bougatsa or anything uniquely Thessaloniki.

Also, how busy does the city get in late spring? Will I need to book things like tours or restaurants in advance?
