If you're seeking the perfect sunset spots near Mykonos Town, here are some top recommendations:

Little Venice: This charming waterfront area is famous for its colorful houses with balconies overhanging the sea. Numerous bars and restaurants here provide front-row seats to the sunset, making it a romantic and picturesque spot.

Boni's Windmill: Located above Mykonos Town, this historic windmill offers a quieter setting to watch the sunset, with panoramic views of the town and harbor.

Panigirakis Castle: A short walk from the town center, this location provides a serene environment to enjoy the sunset, with expansive views over the sea and neighboring islands.

Little Venice is my personal favorite.

Great picks, Little Venice is hard to beat for atmosphere! I’ll throw in one more: 180° Sunset Bar. It’s perched above town near the old windmills and has become a favorite for both locals and visitors. Yes, it’s a bit of a scene (and you’ll want a reservation during peak season), but the views are absolutely breathtaking. You get that full sweeping panorama of the town, the harbor, and the sun dipping into the Aegean.

If you’re looking for something more peaceful, Agios Ioannis beach is another underrated gem. It’s a short drive from town and faces Delos, so the sunset over the sacred island is extra special—spiritual even. Bring a bottle of wine and enjoy it right from the sand.

No matter where you go, Mykonos sunsets always seem to deliver. Just get there a little early—it’s popular for a reason!

Family-Friendly Foods to Try in Mykonos?

We’re considering adding Mykonos to our upcoming Greece trip and I’m curious about the food scene — especially when it comes to local dishes that are family-friendly. I know Mykonos has a reputation for high-end dining and nightlife, but we’ll be traveling with kids, so we’re hoping to experience some of the island’s traditional flavors in a more low-key, welcoming way.

Are there specific Mykonian or Cycladic dishes we should look for that tend to go over well with children? Maybe a favorite cheese, pie, or dessert that’s a local specialty but still kid-approved?

Good Sunset Spots Near Mykonos Town

Great Spots in Mykonos to Watch the Sunset?

Everyone talks about Santorini sunsets, but honestly, I’ve seen some breathtaking ones in Mykonos too, and I’m hoping to find even more on my next trip. I’ve watched from Little Venice with a cocktail in hand, but it gets so crowded that it’s hard to really enjoy the moment.

I’m wondering where locals or returning visitors go to catch a beautiful sunset without the chaos, maybe somewhere quieter, with a good view of the sea and windmills, or even a beach spot that glows in the evening light.

Are there tavernas or bars that have a relaxed sunset vibe without being overly touristy? Or secret viewpoints outside of town that are worth the drive? I’ve heard about spots in Agios Ioannis and 180° Sunset Bar, but I’d love to hear your favorites, whether it’s romantic, peaceful, or just the perfect place to end the day.

Renting a Scooter or ATV in Mykonos?

I’m considering a trip to Mykonos next summer and I’ve been doing some research on how people usually get around the island. I keep coming across advice about renting scooters or ATVs, and I’m a little torn. On one hand, it sounds like such a fun way to explore the beaches and villages, and it seems more flexible than relying on buses or expensive taxis. On the other hand, I’ve also read that the roads can be steep, narrow, and a little dangerous, especially if you’re not used to driving scooters.

I’ve only driven a scooter once while traveling, and it was fine, but I’m not sure how I’d feel in Mykonos traffic. ATVs seem like they might feel sturdier, but maybe they’re harder to park?

For those of you who’ve been to Mykonos: did you rent a scooter, ATV, or something else? What would you recommend for a first-timer?

Best viewpoints in Mykonos?

I’m in the early stages of planning a possible trip to Mykonos and have started researching the best viewpoints on the island. I know about the classic sunset spot near the windmills and Little Venice, but I’m wondering what other viewpoints are worth seeking out, especially ones that aren’t completely packed with crowds.

Are there any higher lookouts, coastal cliffs, quiet hills, or hidden spots where you can really take in the sea and the whitewashed buildings from above? I’d love both sunrise and sunset recommendations, whether they’re easy to reach or require a bit of walking or driving.

Also curious if any viewpoints are near beaches, chapels, or small tavernas where you can linger and enjoy the view longer.

If you’ve been to Mykonos, what viewpoint left the strongest impression on you?
