My my,there is also another tax in Pireaus for docking of cruise ships, hasn't the landscape of Tourism Industry changed?!..I like that bit 'To protect the islands!'Now I wander how charging would 'protect the islands'?!🤣... Just the other day Mykonos had 8 cruise ships docked simultaneously with no over crowding!!....so stated the Mayor!🤣🤣The sadest,as always about this is ask anyone who works day in day out if they are rewarded directly for their efforts, especially in the islands which are extortionately costly for the workers for living and accommodation expenses!

Exploring Mycenae as a Day Trip from Athens?

I’m planning my next trip to Greece and am trying to work out my itinerary. I’d love to visit Mycenae, as I’ve always been fascinated by ancient Greek history and the stories of Agamemnon.

I’m currently thinking of making it a day trip from Athens—does this make sense, or is it better to stay closer? I’m also planning to spend time in Monemvasia again (it’s one of my favorite spots!). Would it be practical to fit Mycenae into this trip as a stopover on my way to or from Monemvasia?

I’ll have a rental car, so I’m flexible, but I don’t want to feel rushed or miss out on fully exploring Mycenae. Any tips would be great!

Which Cyclades Islands to Visit?

I’m thinking of going to the Cyclades next time I’m in Greece and would love some advice. There are so many islands to choose from, and I’m not sure which ones are really worth visiting.

I’m open to both the popular spots and some of the quieter, less touristy islands. I’d love a mix of beautiful beaches, good local food, charming towns, and maybe some history or nature. I’m not big on nightlife, so peaceful and authentic vibes are more my style.

If you’ve been to the Cyclades, which islands stood out to you the most? Are there any hidden gems you’d recommend? And which ones might be a little overrated or not quite worth the hype?

Would love to hear your thoughts and personal favorites. I want to make the most of the trip and really get a feel for the best the Cyclades have to offer.

Has anyone visited Delphi?

I’m planning a trip to Delphi and would love some advice from anyone who has been there. I’m particularly excited to see the archaeological site and the famous Temple of Apollo, but I’d also like to know if there are any hidden gems nearby worth exploring.

Do you have recommendations for the best times to visit to avoid crowds? Are there local guides you’d suggest? Also, I’m curious about nearby restaurants or cafes that serve authentic Greek food.

Any tips on where to stay in the area or how much time to set aside for a visit would be fantastic too. Thanks in advance!

Visiting the Peloponnese Again

It's been a few years since I've been to the Peloponnese and I've been thinking about it lately because I love the food! I want to return and want some tips. Last time I went, I spend most of my time in Monemvassia. I want to go back, but I don't want to spend all my time there.

Do you have suggestions? I want a well rounded trip with beaches, going out, and seeing historical places. For example, I want to visit some of the archaeological sites like Mycenae - I haven't had a chance to do that yet. Any advice you have for me is welcomed!
