Greece to tax cruise ship arrivals to protect popular islands from overtourism!

My my,there is also another tax in Pireaus for docking of cruise ships, hasn't the landscape of Tourism Industry changed?!..I like that bit 'To protect the islands!'Now I wander how charging would 'protect the islands'?!🤣... Just the other day Mykonos had 8 cruise ships docked simultaneously with no over crowding!!....so stated the Mayor!🤣🤣The sadest,as always about this is ask anyone who works day in day out if they are rewarded directly for their efforts, especially in the islands which are extortionately costly for the workers for living and accommodation expenses!

Should We Stop in Corinth?

I'm planning a trip to the Peloponnese, and I'm debating whether it’s worth stopping in Corinth on my way there. Has anyone made a similar trip? If so, could you share your experiences?

I'm particularly interested in:
  • Historical Sites: Are the ancient ruins and historical sites in Corinth worth visiting?
  • Scenic Views: Is the Corinth Canal as impressive in person as it looks in pictures?
  • Local Culture: What’s the vibe of the town like? Any local shops or markets worth checking out?
  • Travel Tips: Are there any specific recommendations or things I should be
Thanks in advance!

Any Festivals in Greece in the Fall?

I am going to Greece in the fall and some of the trip is open ended. This is for late September.

Are there any noteworthy festivals or events happening in Greece during the fall months? I'm particularly interested in cultural, food, or music festivals that offer a taste of Greek traditions and local life.

I've heard about grape harvest festivals and maybe some regional celebrations, but I'd appreciate any recommendations or insights on specific events, dates, and locations.

Passenger traffic in Greek airports soars by 9.5% during January-July 2024!

July 2024 sets a record as the hottest month in Greece's recorded history!

Yes indeed, additional precautions necessary at all times especially visiting any outdoor archeological and cultural sites,I remember when I used to visit Delos regularly,it was unbearable, always feeling for my lovely tour guides who had go around the sites, sometimes 3/4 times in that blistering heat!
