I’m planning a trip to Rhodes and will be spending a few days in Lindos. I’ve already got the main attractions on my list, like the Acropolis and the beautiful St. Paul’s Bay, but I’d love to discover some hidden gems that might not be on the typical tourist radar.

Are there any lesser-known spots or unique experiences in Lindos that you’d recommend? I’m particularly interested in charming local cafes, quiet beaches, secret viewpoints, or any special places where I can soak up the authentic atmosphere of the village. I’d also love tips on any hidden alleyways with beautiful architecture or local shops that sell unique souvenirs.

Additionally, if there are any specific local dishes or lesser-known tavernas that serve amazing food, I’m all ears! I’m excited to explore and appreciate any advice to make my Lindos visit extra special.

I loathe Lindos.Only been there once. Its overcrowded with tourists, Most off the cruise ships .tavernas /shops expensive .Example. bought a 3 litre bottle of Ouzo on a metal stand & with a tap . bought in Faliraki for 38.00 euros .a month later saw EXACTLY the same in supermarket on Krana in Lindos .Price 85.50 Euros .yes that is right eighty five euros & 50 cents .what a rip off

Lindos is full of hidden gems beyond the main attractions! For a quieter beach experience, check out Glystra Beach, a serene spot with crystal-clear waters. It’s perfect if you’re looking to avoid crowds. For stunning views, take a short hike to the top of the Tomb of Kleoboulos—an ancient monument with panoramic views of Lindos and the coastline, often missed by tourists.

Wandering through Lindos’ narrow alleyways is a must! You’ll find beautifully preserved traditional architecture, and charming local shops selling handcrafted ceramics and unique jewelry. Keep an eye out for small art galleries as well.

For a cozy meal, visit Dionysos Restaurant, a family-run taverna serving traditional dishes like moussaka and stifado. For a more off-the-beaten-path option, Arhontiko is a hidden gem tucked into a side street, offering authentic Ikarian dishes and a laid-back atmosphere.

the tavena on glystra beach got burned down last year in the fire . it was illegal anyway .no sun beds this year .the path to kleoboulos is strewn with litter .

Can You Walk the City Walls in Rhodes?

I’m starting to plan a visit to Rhodes and keep seeing photos of the medieval Old Town walls, which made me wonder how accessible they actually are. I know the city walls are a major part of Rhodes’ history, but I’m curious about the practical side of visiting them.

Can you actually walk along the city walls, or are they mostly something you admire from below? If walking is possible, are there specific entrances or sections that are open to the public? I’m also wondering how long it takes and whether it feels more like a short stroll or a full, immersive walk.

For those who’ve done it, is it worth prioritizing? Are there good viewpoints from the walls, or parts that stand out more than others? I’d love to hear what the experience is like and whether it’s something you’d recommend fitting into a first visit to Rhodes.

How do I start using a manual concrete mixer efficiently for DIY projects?

Picked up a manual concrete mixer for some weekend DIY stuff, but wow, I'm realizing I have no clue if I'm using it in a smart way or just wasting energy. I figured it would be simple, but the mix keeps coming out lumpy or too soupy, and I'm starting to feel like the weak link here is... me. If anyone has tips on getting a smooth mix, pacing myself, or just not making a giant mess every time, I'd love to hear it. I really want to get better at this before I start my patio project.

What Part of Rhodes Feels Most “Local”?

I might be visiting friends in Rhodes this summer, and I’m trying to figure out which parts of the island feel the most local and authentic versus heavily touristy.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll definitely check out the major spots and beaches, but I usually enjoy the places where you can actually slow down a little, grab a coffee, sit at a taverna, and get more of a feel for everyday life on the island.

My friends have mentioned that Rhodes has very different vibes depending on where you are, especially once you get away from the main tourist areas.

So I’m curious what people here would recommend. Are there any places that really capture the atmosphere of the island beyond the typical tourist experience?
