I’ve been to Santorini before and absolutely loved it—but this time, I’m going back with friends who have never been. We’re planning a bit of an island-hopping trip, and I’m trying to figure out how many days we should dedicate to Santorini without feeling rushed, but also leaving time for other islands.

I remember there’s a lot to enjoy even just soaking in the views, but I also don’t want them to miss out on the key experiences—Oia sunsets, the hike from Fira to Oia, maybe a winery, and some beach time. We’re not big into overly scheduled days, more go-with-the-flow types.

What would you recommend for first-timers? Is 2 full days enough to get the full experience, or is 3–4 ideal? Would love to hear how long others stayed and whether you felt it was just right or too short!

That sounds like an amazing trip! I’ve done Santorini a couple of times, including once with first-timers, and I’d say 3 full days is the sweet spot. Two days can work if you’re efficient, but you might feel rushed trying to fit in the highlights.

With 3 days, you can take your time enjoying the Fira to Oia hike (which is stunning but takes a few hours), relax at a beach or two (Perissa or Red Beach are good options), and do a sunset dinner in Oia without feeling like you’re on a tight schedule.

If your group is into wine, a late afternoon stop at Santo Wines or Venetsanos is a great add-on with views. I’d say 4 days is luxurious if you’re doing a slower-paced trip, but 3 is ideal for a good balance before hopping to another island.

Good Beaches to Visit for Families in Santorini?

I’m planning a trip to Santorini with my family, including two young kids, and I’d love some advice on the best beaches to visit. I’ve heard that Santorini’s beaches are unique with their black, red, and white sands, but I’m looking for ones that are family-friendly.

We’re hoping to find beaches with calm waters, easy access, and perhaps some amenities like sunbeds, umbrellas, and nearby cafes. I’ve read a bit about Kamari Beach and Perissa Beach, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on those or any other recommendations.

Are there any hidden gems that are less crowded but still safe for kids? Do we need to bring water shoes for the pebbly shores, or are there sandy spots perfect for little ones to play?

Thanks so much for sharing your tips and experiences—we can’t wait to explore Santorini’s beaches!

How many days in enough is Santorini?

I’ve been to Santorini before and absolutely loved it—but this time, I’m going back with friends who have never been. Renting a Jet Ski in Santorini?

I’m planning a trip to Santorini and I’m really looking forward to hitting the water. I’m particularly interested in renting a jet ski to explore the coastline, but I’ve never done it before in Greece, so I’d love some advice.

Can anyone recommend the best places in Santorini to rent a jet ski? I’m looking for a reputable rental spot with good-quality equipment and fair prices. Also, are there any specific areas around the island that are especially great to explore by jet ski, like hidden beaches or cool rock formations?

I’d also appreciate any tips on what to expect in terms of safety, required licenses, or permits for jet skiing in Santorini. Is it worth booking in advance, or is it easy to rent on the spot?

Alternatives to Oia for Sunset

Hey everyone! Last time I was in Oia, I could barely see the sunset – it was so packed with people! This time, I’m hoping to find a quieter spot to soak in the view without the huge crowds.
I’ve heard Imerovigli might be a good alternative with great caldera views – has anyone watched the sunset from there? Or maybe Firostefani? I’d love recommendations for beautiful, more relaxed spots where I can actually see the sunset.

I’m looking for that iconic Santorini vibe but with fewer people around. Even a nice bar or café with a great view would be perfect! If you’ve found any hidden gems or favorite places to catch the sunset, I’d be grateful for the tips. I want to enjoy the magic of Santorini’s sunset without feeling overwhelmed.

Staying in Oia or Fira in Santorini?

I’m planning a trip to Santorini for the summer of 2025 and need some advice on where to stay. I’ve heard a lot about Oia and Fira, but I can’t decide between the two. Oia looks absolutely stunning with those famous sunsets, but Fira seems to have more going on with shops, restaurants, and nightlife.

For those of you who have been, which would you recommend for a first-time visitor? Or is there another place on the island that’s even better to stay? I’m looking for a spot with great views, but also somewhere that isn’t too hard to get around from. I don’t mind a bit of hustle and bustle, but I’d also like some time to relax.

Any tips or personal experiences would be really appreciated. Thank you!
