New hotel alert! Hyatt, a beloved hotel chain by many will be opening a luxury resort in Santorini this summer! The resort will be name Magma Resort, after the magma that comes out of the famous volcanoes in Santorini. This resort will be pretty unique because Santorini is a tiny island so it will not be like those clunk mega resorts that you may see in other places. There will only be 59 rooms which is big for Santorini but small for everywhere else! Will any of you be checking it out this summer?

I tend to really like Hyatt Hotels.T his should be a great place to stay on the island! Great tip. I understand that most hotels in Santorini are small because of the island's constraints but it still should be good.

Is there anyplace out of the way in Santorini?

Santorini is inundated with tourists but I am wondering if there is anywhere on the island that may not be as busy but is still nice to visit. Or, that is maybe close to the busy areas but not too close. I love Santorini, and my family has never been. I want them to see it, but I don't want it to be stressful.

I am wondering if I should just forget it. I have heard stories about how expensive and busy it is in the summers.

The best restaurants in Santorini

Santorini has some of the best Greek cuisine! Ever since the tourism industry has been booming, chefs from all over the world have been visiting, opening up restaurants, and collaborating with Greek shifts. In my opinion, this is the island where you can get the most diverse and elevated cuisine. These are the best restaurants in my opinion, but please let me know your top pics. I would love to know.

- Ouzeri
-Almira
-Ambrosia
-FalafeLand (vegan)

These are just a handful that I can remember off the top of my head!

Is Santorini actually overrated?

I keep hearing this statement over and over....and I'm kind of confused. I loved Santorini when I went, as you can see in my profile picture. I loved riding the donkeys with my kids and exploring the island. I get that its crowded and a little overpriced but I think it was an unforgettable experience. I wouldn't have taken it back and gone to another island! What are your thoughts for those that have been?

Beaches in Santorini Near a Taverna?

I know that the beach scene in Santorini is very different than the rest of Greece because of how the beaches are situated.

Do you know if any of these beaches have facilities, or maybe a nearby taverna? I am trying to plan my trip. The sand colors on Santorini beaches are unique and I feel I want to have a few beach days while I am on the island.

Santorini has the most delicious tomatoes...

One thing I learned while visiting Santorini is that the tomatoes were quite the experience! They had a different shape and they were small and sweet. I heard that they were different because of the unique soil on the island.

I loved the tomato croquettes (domatokeftedes) and any dishes that involved tomato sauce. I found a pic of the tomatoes:
