I night be planning a trip to Rhodes soon, and I keep hearing about how beautiful Mandraki Harbor is — especially for an evening stroll. I’ve seen photos of the deer statues at the entrance and the line of old windmills along the water, and it looks absolutely magical.

I was wondering if anyone could share more details about what it’s like to walk there. Is the whole harbor area pedestrian-friendly, or are there sections with car traffic to watch out for? Are there benches or spots to sit and enjoy the view?

Also, are there cafes or ice cream places along the way where you can stop? I’d love to know if it’s lively in the evenings, or more peaceful and quiet. Any tips?

mandraki is pedestrian friendly .there are a few spots to look out for traffic where people are looking for somewhere to park .there are benches. you can grab a drink or ice cream on the way. evenings are busy times between april & October when tourists are there.do check menue prices before ordering

Mandraki Harbor is one of the loveliest evening walks in Rhodes! The whole area around the waterfront is mostly pedestrian-friendly, though you’ll want to keep an eye out near the marina where cars occasionally pass. The stretch by the windmills and deer statues is perfect for strolling — wide paths, benches facing the sea, and great photo spots.

You’ll find plenty of cafés and gelaterias along the promenade, especially near the Evangelismos Church and yacht area. In the evening, it feels lively but still relaxed — families walking, couples enjoying the sunset, boats lit up in the harbor. Definitely worth a visit!

stupid taverna review

Just read a review for a taverna in monolithos on Rhodes .The writer stated they had the best mousaka on the whole of Rhodes. They could not possibly been to every taverna on the island .I cannot make that claim & I have been on Rhodes for over 16 years

Local wines to try in Rhodes?

I’m starting to gather ideas for a possible late fall trip to Rhodes and one thing I’d really love to explore is the local wine. I’m Greek and have been to Greece many times, but never to Rhodes, so I’m not familiar with the island’s wine scene at all.

I’ve read that Rhodes has a long tradition of winemaking and that certain villages, like Embonas, are known for their vineyards. Are there particular grape varieties or labels I should look for? Any local favorites that don’t make it to the mainland but are worth seeking out while I’m there?

I’d also love to know if there are wineries that offer tastings or tours in the fall, and whether that’s a good season for visiting vineyards in Rhodes.

If you’ve had wine in Rhodes that made an impression, I’d be grateful for your recommendations!
