This museum is amazing!! It's probably my second favourite museum in Athens besides the one at the acropolis. It's great for history buffs like me :) and it's located right next to Kolonaki which is one of the best and most popular neighborhoods in Athens so you can explore and grab a bite to eat after you go. I highly recommend it

Ooooh this is so cool! I'd love to visit and check out Kolonaki as well (I've heard there's really good shopping there)

Greece has been involved in many wars, and it is a big part of the country's history. This museum is an interesting place to learn about this history!

This museum is definitely a good place to visit, especially if you like learning about Greek history:

Piraeus Archaeological Museum

I am going to spending some time in the Piraeus area for a night or so this fall before boarding a ferry. I decided to stay closer to the port rather than in the center of Athens. I noticed that there was a museum in Piraeus! Is this worth visiting? I have never heard of it. I imagine it maybe would have artifacts from nearby digs?

Favorite Sunsets in Athens?

I am looking forward to seeing Athens again soon. Do you have a favorite sunset spot? My two favorites are Filopappou Hill and the area around the Acropolis. I am looking for some more ideas - I have a great camera and when I go to Greece, I love taking photos around sunset - even better if there is a great view of the sunset itself.

Visiting the Sounio Area

I am flying into Athens soon. I know I want to visit the Temple of Poseidon. In looking into the area, though, it seems like there's a lot more to do than I thought. For example, I saw pics and there's a nice resort in the area...

Should I maybe consider staying in this area? Is there enough to do?

Athens Metro Station with Artifacts?

What is the name of the metro station in Athens that has the artifacts on display? I heard about it and want to see it, but I am not sure it is worth going out of my way for. Is there more than ne to see?

I love artifacts and am just looking for more detail. I will be in the city for just a few days so I am really struggling if this is worth it or not.

Visiting the Cycladic Museum

Though I will be in Mykonos for a while when I come to Greece (soon!) I will have some time in Athens.

I will be tied up with wedding festivities on Mykonos, but I will have some time. So, I want to learn about the history and culture of the island. I know there has to be more to it there than all the parties and the beach scene.

I plan to visit the Cycladic Museum in Athens to get ready. Is there anything I should keep in mind while I explore the museum?
