I'm not even surprised that Milos is one of the most up and coming Greek islands this summer. So many of my friends are planning on visiting, and I have some cousins who went last year and have nothing but rave reviews. The island is pretty small, and known for its amazing beaches. As you can see in this video, it almost looks like you're on mars. The crowd is a little bit older, and the island is more slow paced and quiet. So I wouldn't recommend it fora younger group looking to go out a lot. Personally, it sounds like a great time to me!

I'm planning to go there next year. I just want to get on a ferry boat and just island hop for a few weeks.

Amazing! I'm planning a day trip there since I can't seem to find affordable hotels so late in the summer. My advice is to book early

It has been two decades since I last went to the popular islands of Mykonos and Santorini during the summer months. I have heard that lately, the crowds at those places are crazier than ever. Islands like Milos have been on my radar because I bet they don't get as crowded and are equally is fun and gorgeous.

I have been wanting to go to Milos for a while! I might add this to my list for the next time I am in Greece.

I love Milos! It's very quiet and there's usually a more mature crowd there. It's not so much for party and nightlife.

Alternatively, if you want to go the Santorini or Mykonos, go during the shoulder periods. June is probably the best month - not so many tourists but still good weather.

Help Packing for Greece Trip

I am starting to make my pack list for Greece. I plan to get there at the end of August. What is the weather like? It's been a while since I've been and I need answers to some questions:

- Does it get cold at night?
- Should I expect some rain?
- How are the winds? Will I need a windbreaker?

Also I am curious about fashion stuff... what do the women tend to wear in Greece? I know that's vague, but I don't want to look totally like a tourist in my wardrobe.

Visiting Churches in Greece

I can't remember if there is a dress code for visiting churches in Greece. I know in monasteries they tend to be stricter, but many have skirts or scarves you can borrow at the door.

If I wanted to attend a church service or simply visit a church or monastery, how is it that I would need to dress? Is it okay for women to wear pants?

Is Free Camping allowed in Greece? Read this before you go!

Most fires in Greece were started ‘by human hand’, government says.

This has already caused many cancellations due to fear being created by exaggerated reporting which the Media takes pleasure in! The problems here are next year's bookings as both Rhodes and Corfu are main stream tourism destination for Brits and Germans accounting for many millions.

Finding last minute travel deals?

Most of the time when I go to Greece, I know well in advance.

I am thinking of going at the last minute soon, and I wonder how to look for last minute deals?

One thing I did notice is that from the United States, flights tend to go up in price as the date approaches, not down, but I may be able to find deals on hotels etc?

Tips appreciated!
