I am planning to visit Greece this year and will go to Athens, maybe Hydra, Santorini, and Mykonos. I will have about a month in the country and I have never been to Corfu. I wonder if I should also visit Corfu this time around? Also, I am not sure Hydra is happening ... I will have time - Santorini/Mykonos will take up about a week of my time in Greece. What do you guys think?

It all depends on how long you plan to stay! I get a little stressed when I try to do too much when in Greece. I like to plunk down in one spot, maybe two, and spend the time relaxing.

What made you fall in love with Corfu?

Those of you who have been to Corfu, I am curious. What made you fall in love with it? My wife and I are thinking of going. We love the Greek culture and Greece and have never been. I've been experimenting cooking Greek food. We love to go out for Greek food!

Goal is to do a food tour of Greece, but Corfu really catches our eye as a great destination. I would love to hear what you think of it. We want to experience the culture! We have at least 3 nights to spend there before we move on to somewhere else in Greece.

Hiking trails on Corfu?

I’m starting to look more seriously at Corfu for a future trip, and one thing that really appeals to me is the landscape. The island seems greener than many other parts of Greece, and I’ve heard there are some beautiful hiking opportunities with coastal views, hills, and even mountain scenery.

I’d love to include a few hikes in my itinerary, but I’m not sure where to start. Are there particular trails that stand out for scenery or overall experience? I’ve come across mentions of the Corfu Trail, but I’m also curious about shorter routes that could be done in half a day.

For those who have hiked there, how difficult are the trails generally? Any recommendations for specific areas, viewpoints, or routes that are especially memorable?
Also interested in practical tips, best seasons, footwear, or things to watch out for.

Would love to hear your experiences and suggestions!

Information Needed on Canal D'Amor for a Date

Hi everyone! My partner and I are heading to Corfu soon with a small group of friends, but we’re hoping to sneak away for a little one-on-one time during the trip. We’ve heard about the Canal D’Amour and were wondering if it might make a good spot for a romantic date — maybe a walk, a swim, or even just to sit and take in the view.

Is it as picturesque and special as it sounds? Or is it more of a daytime photo-op spot?

We’d love to know if there’s a quieter time to go, any nearby tavernas for a cozy meal afterward, or anything else that would help us turn it into a memorable evening.

If you’ve been there with a partner — would you recommend it for a little getaway moment during a group trip? Appreciate any thoughts or tips!

First Impression of Corfu?

I was talking with a friend recently who’s been to Corfu many times, and it sparked an interesting question. It’s been over 30 years since his first visit, and he realized he can’t quite remember what his initial impression of the island was anymore. Not what he thinks of Corfu now, but how it landed the very first time.

That made me curious about other people’s experiences. Do you remember how Corfu felt to you on your first visit? Was it the landscape, the Old Town, the food, the pace of life, or something less tangible? Did it meet your expectations, or surprise you in some way?

When a place becomes familiar over time, those first reactions tend to blur or get overwritten by later memories. I’d love to hear from anyone who can still recall that first moment of arrival — what stood out, what confused you, or what made you want to come back.

West vs East Corfu Beaches?

I’m planning a trip to Corfu for early next summer (probably June) and I’ve started looking into beaches, but I’m a little stuck deciding which side of the island to focus on. From what I’ve read, the west coast has dramatic cliffs and sunsets, while the east coast is more sheltered and calm.

I love swimming, relaxing in the sun, and exploring a few little coves or hidden spots if possible. I’m not much into party beaches, but I do enjoy a nice taverna nearby! I’ll probably rent a car for a few days, so I’m open to bouncing around, but would love to get advice on where to base myself.

Which do you personally prefer, west or east Corfu beaches, and why? Are there beaches on one side that just blew you away? Thanks so much!
