I’m considering a trip to Rhodes, but I’m still in the early planning stages and gathering as much information as I can. One of my favorite activities on vacation is snorkeling, and I’ve heard Rhodes has some amazing spots for underwater exploration.

Can anyone recommend the best places to snorkel around the island? I’m looking for areas with clear water, vibrant marine life, and maybe even some unique underwater features like caves or rock formations. Are there any hidden gems or beaches that stand out for snorkeling?

Also, are there guided snorkeling tours worth checking out, or is it better to rent gear and explore on my own? Any tips for the best time of year to visit for calm, clear waters would also be super helpful. Thanks!

Kalithea Springs & Anthony Quinn bay are good to explore .any time in the summer is a good time .there are agencies who can book you trips including gear.

Rhodes is an excellent choice for snorkeling enthusiasts! For crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life, head to Anthony Quinn Bay—its calm, turquoise waters and rocky seabed make it a top snorkeling spot. Another fantastic location is Ladiko Beach, where you’ll find colorful fish and intriguing underwater rock formations. If you’re up for adventure, Traganou Beach features a cave system that’s both beautiful and fun to explore.

For a more secluded experience, St. Paul's Bay in Lindos offers stunning underwater scenery and a serene atmosphere. Guided snorkeling tours can be a great option if you want insights into the marine life and hidden spots, but renting gear and exploring on your own is equally rewarding—just follow local safety tips.

Ancient Kamiros: Worth Visiting?

I’m heading to Rhodes soon and putting together my list of historical sites to check out. I’ve got Lindos and the Old Town locked in, but I keep coming across Ancient Kamiros—and I’m torn on whether it’s worth the detour.

I’m into ancient ruins and Greek history, but I’ve already seen places like Knossos and Delphi, so I’m wondering how Kamiros compares. Is it well-preserved? Do you need a guide to really appreciate it, or is it still impressive if you go solo?

Also curious how long to budget for the visit—just a quick look or something you can really explore for a couple of hours?

Would love to hear your honest takes: is Kamiros worth the trip, or should I focus on other sites while I’m on the island? Thanks in advance!

Ways to enjoy nature in Rhodes?

Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip to Rhodes soon and while I’m excited for the beaches and historical sites, I’d also love to connect with the natural side of the island. I know Rhodes is more than just medieval walls and crystal-clear water—so I’m wondering:

What are your favorite ways to enjoy nature in Rhodes?

Are there any scenic hikes, quiet walking trails, or nature reserves you’d recommend? I’ve heard of places like the Valley of the Butterflies and Seven Springs, but I’m open to hidden gems too—lush areas, mountain drives, peaceful beaches off the beaten path, or even botanical gardens or scenic outlooks.

I’m not necessarily looking for adrenaline adventures—just ways to unwind and take in the island’s natural beauty.

Greek generosity

I was shopping in my favourite supermarket this morning near my apartment . It was the name day of a member of staff . From a box , He offered me a cream cake. I was so grateful to him .

Most relaxing beaches on Rhodes?

I could use some updated advice. When I sit at the beach, I don’t want it to be crazy—I’m looking for calm, quiet, and a bit of space to breathe. I just found out in another thread that some of the beaches I was considering for my upcoming trip to Rhodes have changed a lot over the years—apparently some are way more crowded or developed now than they used to be.

Does anyone have recommendations for truly relaxing beaches on the island? I don’t need beach bars or party vibes—just clear water, a peaceful atmosphere, and preferably not packed with sunbeds wall to wall. A little taverna nearby would be a bonus, but I’m happy packing my own lunch too.

Are there any spots that still feel a bit under the radar, or at least mellow during certain times of day? I’d really appreciate any suggestions from recent visitors.
