Local wines to try in Rhodes?

I’m starting to gather ideas for a possible late fall trip to Rhodes and one thing I’d really love to explore is the local wine. I’m Greek and have been to Greece many times, but never to Rhodes, so I’m not familiar with the island’s wine scene at all.

I’ve read that Rhodes has a long tradition of winemaking and that certain villages, like Embonas, are known for their vineyards. Are there particular grape varieties or labels I should look for? Any local favorites that don’t make it to the mainland but are worth seeking out while I’m there?

I’d also love to know if there are wineries that offer tastings or tours in the fall, and whether that’s a good season for visiting vineyards in Rhodes.

If you’ve had wine in Rhodes that made an impression, I’d be grateful for your recommendations!

Ways to enjoy nature in Rhodes?

Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip to Rhodes soon and while I’m excited for the beaches and historical sites, I’d also love to connect with the natural side of the island. I know Rhodes is more than just medieval walls and crystal-clear water—so I’m wondering:

What are your favorite ways to enjoy nature in Rhodes?

Are there any scenic hikes, quiet walking trails, or nature reserves you’d recommend? I’ve heard of places like the Valley of the Butterflies and Seven Springs, but I’m open to hidden gems too—lush areas, mountain drives, peaceful beaches off the beaten path, or even botanical gardens or scenic outlooks.

I’m not necessarily looking for adrenaline adventures—just ways to unwind and take in the island’s natural beauty.

Information About Walking at Mandraki Harbor?

I night be planning a trip to Rhodes soon, and I keep hearing about how beautiful Mandraki Harbor is — especially for an evening stroll. I’ve seen photos of the deer statues at the entrance and the line of old windmills along the water, and it looks absolutely magical.

I was wondering if anyone could share more details about what it’s like to walk there. Is the whole harbor area pedestrian-friendly, or are there sections with car traffic to watch out for? Are there benches or spots to sit and enjoy the view?

Also, are there cafes or ice cream places along the way where you can stop? I’d love to know if it’s lively in the evenings, or more peaceful and quiet. Any tips?
