I’ll be visiting Rhodes this summer, and I can’t wait to explore the island’s food scene! I know Greek cuisine is amazing, but I’d love to try local dishes that are unique to Rhodes.

Are there any must-try specialties that I shouldn’t miss? I’ve heard about pitaroudia (chickpea fritters) and lakani (a slow-cooked meat dish), but I’d love more recommendations—whether it’s seafood, traditional meze, or local desserts.

Also, if you have any restaurant or taverna recommendations, I’d really appreciate it! I want to experience authentic, home-style cooking rather than just touristy spots. Bonus points if it’s by the sea with a great view!

Looking forward to your tips and suggestions—thanks in advance!

get away from the coasts.Go to villages in land .Like asklipou & Agapitos in the square is excellent .Near Gennadi is Angelika tavernas . It has been rebuilt following the fire .Neither are by the sea.

You already mentioned pitaroudia (chickpea fritters), which are a must-try, but don’t miss melitzanosalata (smoky eggplant dip) or gardoumakia, a unique Rhodian take on Greek offal dishes. If you love seafood, try fouskoti, a local fish stew, or karavoli (snails in tomato sauce), a true island delicacy. For something hearty, matsi (handmade pasta with local cheese) is a fantastic comfort dish.

For desserts, definitely try melekouni—a honey and sesame bar that’s both delicious and a great energy boost while exploring.

One dish I didn’t expect to love so much was pitaroudia, crispy, spiced chickpea fritters that I kept going back for. They kind of reminded me of some appetizers I had at a luxury Thai restaurant Koh Samui where they also used chickpeas in a creative way. Both places made something simple taste amazing, just with different spices and styles.

kapamas is difficult to find in the summer .its really a winter dish

Great thread, those traditional dishes sound delicious and really authentic to Rhodes. I especially love the idea of trying pitaroudia (chickpea fritters) and melekouni (sesame‑honey treat) when visiting, they’re deeply rooted in local culture. Don’t forget to pair your meals with a glass of local wine or the refreshing rakomelo. Also, exploring small family tavernas off the beaten path often leads to the most genuine culinary experiences.

pitaroudia & melekouni are known all over greece not just on rhodes

What are the best practices for storing research peptides?

Been messing around with a few research peptides for a side project, and now I’m low‑key stressing that I’m gonna ruin them just by not storing them right. I’ve read a bunch of mixed info online—some folks say one thing, others say the complete opposite—so now I’m second‑guessing everything. These things weren’t cheap, and I’d rather not turn them into useless dust because I screwed up. Anyone here been in the same boat and figured out what actually works? I’m hoping to keep them stable long enough to finish what I’m working on.

Is Lindos better as a day trip or overnight stay?

Planning a trip to Rhodes and trying to decide how to experience Lindos. I’ve seen people recommend both a quick day trip and staying overnight, and I’m curious what others think.

On one hand, Lindos seems compact enough to see in a few hours, like to see the Acropolis, village streets, a swim, lunch, then move on. On the other, photos of the village in the early morning or after day-trippers leave make it look like a completely different place.

For those who’ve been, did staying overnight add something meaningful to your experience? Was it quieter, more atmospheric, or easier to enjoy the town without crowds? Or did you feel a day trip was more than enough?

I’d love to hear what you’d recommend, especially if you’ve done both. Season, budget, and travel style probably change the answer for everyone.
