The Symposium Cultural Center is a fantastic place to go to when youre visiting the island. You will have access to everything from Greek food, art, history and culture through exhibitions and workshops. If you like hands on activities, I highly recommend that you sign up for a workshops with your friends or family when you visit. It is a great bonding activity and a nice way to experience all that Santorini has to offer. Here is the website and some links

This is an interesting idea. I always see artists in Santorini painting and using the island as inspiration, and I had no idea that I could take classes!

Best time of year to visit Santorini?

I'm planning a trip to Santorini and I'm trying to figure out the best time of year to visit. I’ve heard that the island can get quite crowded during peak season, but I still want to enjoy good weather and be able to experience all the main attractions.

What months would you recommend for a balance of fewer crowds and pleasant weather?

I have heard that the summer months are packed with people and that it cuts into the enjoyment - for example, sunsets in Oia are filled with people and you can't enjoy them as well in peak season of July and August. Is September or October better?

Art classes in Santorini?

When I have been to Santorini in the past, I see a lot of artists painting. Many, I am sure, are just going there to paint. I don't blame them. I am wondering if there are classes!

I’m looking for recommendations on:
  1. Art Schools or Studios: Any well-known places that offer quality art classes?
  2. Types of Classes: Are there specific courses focusing on painting, sketching, or even digital art?
  3. Instructor Experience: It would be great to learn from someone who is not only skilled but also familiar with the local scenery and can provide tips on capturing the essence of Santorini.
I am sure there are classes, retreats, that kind of thing. But I don't know where to start seeking them out. Thought I'd start here.

Best places to dine in Santorini?

I'm planning a trip to Santorini and I’m super excited about exploring the local food scene! I've heard the island has some amazing dining options, from traditional Greek tavernas to fine dining with stunning views.

Do you have any recommendations for must-visit restaurants or hidden gems? Whether it's a place with incredible sunset views, the best moussaka, or a spot known for fresh seafood, I'd love to hear your suggestions.

Thanks in advance for your tips!

Flying to Santorini from Toronto?

I'm planning a trip to Santorini from Toronto and would love some advice! What are the best flight routes and airlines to consider? Any tips on layovers or the most convenient connections? I'm also interested in knowing about the best times to book for good deals and any travel hacks to make the journey smoother. Additionally, any recommendations on what to do upon arrival in Santorini to quickly adjust to the local time and make the most of my stay would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help. I don't plan to go anywhere else in Greece and just want to figure out the best way to minimize travel time and simply just get there as quickly as I can. I have to go for a wedding.

Worst season ever’: How things got ugly on Greece’s ‘Instagram island’

Below is an extract from the article!(Not my opinion which I will write at the end of season)
"When evening comes, however, the crowds melt away, and some complain the island goes from Times Square to ghost town.
'The island is empty’
The truth is that the island is empty. Right now is like never before, it’s the worst season ever
The problem is that the social media are showing something completely different from what is the reality,” he says.
However, when the crowds are gone, “the hotels right now are more or less under 30% of a normal season,” he claims, and says that other businesses on the island are taking a similar hit".
