Visiting Red Beach in Santorini Advice?

I’ll be visiting Santorini in early September, and I’ve heard a lot about Red Beach. It sounds beautiful and like it might be a bit tucked out of the way, which I’m hoping means it’ll be more peaceful compared to other beaches on the island.

Has anyone been there around this time of year? I’d love to know what to expect! Is it typically crowded in September, or does it have a quieter vibe? Also, I’ve read that the access path can be a bit tricky—are there any tips for getting there safely, or things I should bring with me? Thanks!

Red Beach is absolutely stunning, and its unique red cliffs make it a must-see while in Santorini! Visiting in early September is a great time—the crowds typically start to thin out after the peak summer season, so it’s likely to be quieter compared to July or August. That said, it’s still a popular spot, so I’d recommend visiting earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon to fully enjoy the peaceful vibe.

The access path to the beach can be a bit rocky and uneven, so sturdy shoes are a must (flip-flops won’t cut it!). Bring water, sunscreen, and maybe a small umbrella for shade, as there’s not much natural cover.
