I went to Rhodes once as part of a cruise stop, and I spent the whole time touring the Knights of Saint John area, as well as the Acropolis of Lindos. By the time the tour was over, there was no time to really do much else. Next time I go, I want to hit the beach. Do you have a favorite beach on the island?

Traveling to Rhodes for the First Time?

I am researching potential places to visit in Greece. Rhodes is on the list because someone told me it was a great place to go to imagine the times when the Greek mythological stories were a prevalent part of the culture (Mandraki Harbor). I was thinking of spending a bit of time there. Do you have any recommendations on what else I should do while there? Some possibilities:
  • Explore the ruins from the Knights of Saint John
  • Acropolis at Lindos
  • Beaches - Faliriki, Lindos Beach, etc (did I miss any beaches - these are the ones that most intrigued me)
What else should I see? Thanks!

Arhipoli kiosk & animal reserve

Just outside Arhipoli is a kiosk selling olive oil & other products. Nektaria the owner has a reserve next door. Here together are peacocks, donkeys, horses & adult red deer with their fawns. The deer are very friendly & like being fed fruit.

Airport taxis

Hello everyone, Newby here, so please bare with me if this question has been asked before. I will be arriving in Rhodes on Friday evening, and wondering if its cheaper to prebook a taxi or just jump in a taxi at the airport, as not sure if there is a standard rate or not. Thanks

The best wineries to visit in Rhodes

I've done quite a bit of research about the different types of wines in Rhodes and what wineries produce the best wine. Of course, wine are always up to your personal taste and no one can truly tell you what is the best wine for you. The most popular and successful wineries in Rhodes are Alexandris Family Winery, Kounakis, Tatakis, Kounakis and Piperis. If you've been to any of these, please let me know how your experience was!

Seven Springs in Rhodes is a great place for couples!

This is one of the most beautiful natural places on the island of Rhodes. In English, it's called Seven Springs, but in Greek it's called Epta Piges. These are natural springs that are open to the public. It is a particularly romantic place and great for couples, especially those on honeymoons. The springs are located in the woods, and have amazing scenery. It's the perfect place for a picnic and to spend the afternoon. I highly recommend that everyone visit!
