What to do in Santorini on a budget

1. Cliff diving at Amoudi Bay
2. Any public beach!
3. Visiting churrches
4. The three bells of Fira
5. Visit Akrotiri lighthouse
6. Hiking (not on a guided tour)

These are just my suggestions! Let me know if you have other ideas :)

I am intrigued by the cliff diving. Is this something that people do a lot of here? I would also consider doing the walk along the coast (more like a hike I guess) from Fira to Oia. Gorgeous views! You could always take a taxi back to Fira, rather than walk both ways.

You should try the food while in Santorini!

I recently spent some time in Santorini and my one takeaway is that the food there is fantastic, especially the tomatoes. But everything is delicious.

I have been trying to replicate a dish - "domatakeftedes" - since I enjoyed them on the island I've been wanting to make them. Does anyone know what to do?

I think the ingredients are something like this:

- Ripe tomatoes (maybe grated)
- Feta cheese - crumbled
- Chopped Fresh Herbs - parsley, mint, maybe oregano?
- Flour or bread crumbs
- Egg? (recipes I have found online - some say to use egg some leave it out)
- Oil for frying

What do you guys think?

Accomodation sept 2024

i know its a long way away,but we are going to a wedding and would like to be in Oia.2 adults,2 children,4 yrs and 6 year.
we would like to be central,maybe near the public pool area,or around there.2 bedrooms .
Needs to be a readonable price per night as we are there for 8 days
Any ideas would be great.

The best restaurants in Santorini

Santorini has some of the best Greek cuisine! Ever since the tourism industry has been booming, chefs from all over the world have been visiting, opening up restaurants, and collaborating with Greek shifts. In my opinion, this is the island where you can get the most diverse and elevated cuisine. These are the best restaurants in my opinion, but please let me know your top pics. I would love to know.

Beaches in Santorini Near a Taverna?

I know that the beach scene in Santorini is very different than the rest of Greece because of how the beaches are situated.

Do you know if any of these beaches have facilities, or maybe a nearby taverna? I am trying to plan my trip. The sand colors on Santorini beaches are unique and I feel I want to have a few beach days while I am on the island.

Today was my first day in Santorini and I must say I was astounded. I was worried that there was a lot of hype around the island, and that it might not be as nice as they say but I was wrong. It’s absolutely stunning. I believe that everyone should try and go in their lifetime.
