Where is the best destination for a baptism in Greece?

My friend really wants to baptize her son somewhere in Greece with beautiful nature and scenery. Any recommendations on where to go? Islands vs mainland? What is better in your experience, I've never been to any baptisms in Greece

A few years ago I went to a Greek Orthodox baptism outside of Athens (I don't remember the exact place). Are you planing a christening for your family? Are you from Greece, if so which region? I have heard of people doing this but haven't had personal experience. There are a lot of churches in Greece but not all of them have active parishes with a designated priest because I believe there is a clergy shortage. So, this would be impossible to plan without knowing more details.

Best Off the Beaten Track Islands in Greece

I recently had some friends tell me about their trip to Greece, which involved Mykonos and Santorini. He said those two places were so busy, it ruined the enjoyment of it.

We are planning a trip to Greece next year and want to try some smaller islands that are more like "hidden gems" than tourist traps. Someone told me that Aegina is a nice place, as well as Paros. Do you guys have any advice other than those two islands?

Spending a Few Days on Aegina

I am helping a friend plan her trip to Aegina. I have been, but I forget the details and wonder if any of you can help.

There are some religious sites to see, such as the relics of Saint Nektarios, and I need help figuring out where on the island to go. Which Ferry port is best? What's the name of the church or monastery? Can I do this as a day trip from Athens?

September in Greece Tips and Advice

It has been a while since I went to Greece in September, and when I went, it was in late September. This time, I will be going earlier in the month. I will be flying into Athens from Toronto, so I will be pretty jet lagged once I arrive.

I am not sure how long I want to stay in Athens. It seems that, in the past, I haven't gotten too far past the Athens area and I kind of want to change it. These days, most of the people I am visiting are in the Athens area so I will be spending a lot of time at their homes, staying with people, etc.

Meanwhile I want to see something else. I have a few days - maybe 5 nights or so - to spend somewhere else, and I want to pick a spot and stay there. Do you have any recommendations? I know that is vague - I want to have some nice, relaxing beach time, and I am not too concerned about whether or not there are crowds or plenty to do. I want beaches and great places to eat (easy in Greece!).

This has already caused many cancellations due to fear being created by exaggerated reporting which the Media takes pleasure in! The problems here are next year's bookings as both Rhodes and Corfu are main stream tourism destination for Brits and Germans accounting for many millions.

UNESCO Sites Near Athens

I decided to narrow down my list to UNESCO sites in Athens to see. I will be here long enough, and I plan to prioritize the 2 or 3 I really want to see, and then see if the rest happen.

Here's my list:

- Acropolis in Athens - could probably spend a day here - seems like there's a lot to see
- Delphi - I am hoping to be able to do Delphi as a day trip?
- Meteora - is this possible on another day trip?

Did I miss anything? I know I want to do Acropolis and Delphi, not sure I will have time for anything else.
