Santorini Greece is a wonderful place to celebrate New Years! Many hotels will be having low-key celebrations and have many discounts for the winter season! I found this website that lists all of the most popular hotels to visit for New Years... here are a few on the list

1. Porto Fira Suites, Fira
2. Amaya Selection of Villas, Oía
3. Aqua Mare Luxury Suites, Imerovigli
4. Volcano View by Caldera Collection, Fira

What to do in Santorini on a budget

1. Cliff diving at Amoudi Bay
2. Any public beach!
3. Visiting churrches
4. The three bells of Fira
5. Visit Akrotiri lighthouse
6. Hiking (not on a guided tour)

These are just my suggestions! Let me know if you have other ideas :)

Santorini visit end of October beginning of November

Two couples are hoping to go to Santorini for our anniversaries. I know the crowds are gone by then but will there be anything open? Restaurant’s etc? Will it be too cold to go swimming? Any information is appreciated. Thank you.

Agios Nikolaos is Santorinis monastery created by women

The monastery is dedicated to Agios Panteleimon, Zoodoxos Pighi and Agios Nikolaos. This monastery is super special because it is created by women which is pretty rare considering usually men are monks and priests, and considered the leaders of the Greek orthodox religion. It was established in 1651 by daughters of the Gizi family. Today the monastery is one of the most important religious sites on the island of Santorini and has many historical icons. I really recommend a visit for anyone who is going to the island.
