I’m planning a trip to Thessaloniki and I'm really interested in exploring the local wine scene. Are there any great wine bars in the city that you’d recommend? I’d love to find spots that offer a variety of Greek wines, especially ones from the local region, and have a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

I’m also interested in any wine tasting events or tours that might be available. If you have any favorite wine bars or hidden gems where I can enjoy a glass or two, please share your recommendations. Also, any tips on wine-related activities or places with knowledgeable staff would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Thessaloniki has a vibrant wine scene that you’ll absolutely love exploring! For wine bars, I highly recommend Oinovate. It’s a cozy spot with a fantastic selection of Greek wines, particularly from the local Macedonia region. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate about wine, so don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations or pairings. Another gem is Diavasi, which offers a great variety of wines and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

If you’re interested in wine tasting events, keep an eye out for happenings at The Wine Route or Cava Mavroudi, both known for their events and tastings. For a more immersive experience, consider a day trip to the nearby wine regions like Naoussa or Drama, where you can visit wineries and enjoy guided tastings.

Advice for taking a food tour of Thessaloniki?

I absolutely love Thessaloniki, but I’ve never really explored it through a food tour before. This time, I want to dive deep into the local flavors and experience the city in a new way. I’m looking for something very authentic—less about touristy spots and more about where the locals eat.

Has anyone taken a great food tour in Thessaloniki that really showcases the city’s culinary identity? I’d love recommendations for tours that focus on traditional meze, street food, or even lesser-known family-run spots. Bonus points if there’s a chance to learn about the city’s diverse food history along the way!

If you’ve done one, what were the highlights? Or would you recommend skipping a tour and just doing a self-guided food adventure instead?

Good Day Trips from Thessaloniki

I’m planning a trip to Thessaloniki and would love some recommendations for great day trips from the city. I’m interested in exploring the surrounding areas and getting a taste of the local culture, history, and natural beauty. What are some must-see places that are easily accessible from Thessaloniki?

I’ve heard about the stunning beaches of Halkidiki – are there specific spots there you would recommend for a day visit? Also, I’m curious about Mount Olympus. Is it feasible to do a day trip there, and what’s the best way to experience it?

Additionally, I’m open to visiting historical sites, charming villages, or scenic landscapes. If there are any hidden gems or lesser-known destinations that you think are worth visiting, I’d love to hear about those too.

Any tips on transportation, guided tours, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

Solo Travel - 3 Days in Thessaloniki

I’ll be traveling to Thessaloniki by myself for work, but I’ve managed to carve out three extra days to explore the city! Since it’ll be my first time there, I’d love some advice on must-see sights, great local restaurants, and solo-friendly activities.

I’m definitely planning to check out the White Tower, Ano Poli, and Aristotelous Square, but what else should I add to my list? I’d love to experience authentic Greek food, so any recommendations for great tavernas or brunch spots would be amazing!

Also, is the city easy to navigate on foot, or should I rely on public transport? Any hidden gems or off-the-beaten-path experiences you’d recommend for a solo traveler?

Outdoor Shopping in Thessaloniki

I'm planning a trip to Thessaloniki and I'm really excited about exploring the local markets and outdoor shopping spots. I've heard that Thessaloniki has a vibrant shopping scene, especially when it comes to open-air markets and local boutiques.

What to Do at the Thessaloniki Waterfront

I’m planning a trip to Thessaloniki next summer, and I’ve heard that the waterfront is a must-see. I’d love some recommendations on what to do and see while exploring this area! I know the White Tower is a major landmark, but I’d like to make the most of my time there and experience more than just the tourist spots. Are there specific cafes or restaurants with great views where I can relax and enjoy the sea breeze?

I’ve also heard there are some interesting sculptures and public art along the waterfront – any that I shouldn’t miss? Plus, if there are any activities like boat tours or evening events, I’d love to know about them! Lastly, I enjoy walking and people-watching, so any tips on scenic spots or good places to catch a sunset would be amazing. Thanks in advance!
