Thessaloniki is one of the most unique places in Greece! Its way better than Athens in my opinion, it has everything that a big city has to offer but it also has a small town and waterfront vibe. I have not spent enough time in Thessaloniki to judge if it is better or not, but it was certainly great. There are pros and cons to both cities.
