“A Byzantine Christmas” at Saint Sophia Greek Church in Albany, NY

Psaltikon’s original Byzantine Christmas program comes to Albany! Come hear the Psaltikon Ensemble, directed by Spyridon Antonopoulos, perform a concert of ecstatic Byzantine chant, traditional Greek carols from Greece, Asia Minor, and the islands, and dramatic readings from the Christmas story of Alexandros Papadiamantis. The audience will participate with singing of traditional Christmas and New Year’s carols.

With acclaimed world musicians Phaedon Sinis (lyra), Paddy League (Cretan laouto), Thanasis Athanassiadis (clarinet), Vasilis Kostas (laouto), George Lernis (percussion), and more!

A reception will follow the concert in the church hall.

Early Ticket Pricing: General admission tickets are $20. Student / senior tickets are $15. Please present valid ID at door.
