Is Santorini actually overrated?

I keep hearing this statement over and over....and I'm kind of confused. I loved Santorini when I went, as you can see in my profile picture. I loved riding the donkeys with my kids and exploring the island. I get that its crowded and a little overpriced but I think it was an unforgettable experience. I wouldn't have taken it back and gone to another island! What are your thoughts for those that have been?

Agreed. I can't stand Mykonos and I've never even been! I've heard too many bad things to actually go

Santorini has unique and spectacular views. It has history, amazing geology and very different beaches. I love it.

Mykonos is flat. I like town and the opportunity to go to Delos, but we don't go to the party beaches or expensive restaurants
Going there again this year, we will see how good (or bad) it is after Covid.

Santorini is so gorgeous and unique, I believe it is absolutely worth the hype. I have heard that Mykonos is likely overrated but I only went there once. I do agree that I loved Santorini so much better!
