Why Greeks dont usually split the bill

In Greece, its common courtesy to offer to pay the full bill when you are sharing a meal, drink or coffee with someone. While many people may find this a bit strange, the idea is that you alternate who pays and it will even out. This is important to know when dining out with local Greeks, as there are many miscommunications if you are from a different culture and it is easy to get offended or for there to be a misunderstanding.

I always pay the bill because I'm Greek. The only time there is a fight on who is paying the bill, is when you have gone out with another Greek
