I keep forgetting that there's baseball in Greece. They have a national team but do they only really convene for the Olympics?
Here is some information I've gathered. What do you guys think?
The Greece National Baseball Team was founded in 1984 and has been growing ever since. The team is part of the Hellenic Baseball Federation, which is the governing body for baseball in Greece. The federation was created in 2002 and has been working hard to promote the sport in the country. Today, there are over 20 baseball clubs in Greece, and the sport is gaining popularity among the youth.
Even though baseball is not a traditional sport in Greece, the national team has been successful in several international tournaments. In 2004, the team won the European Championship C-Pool, and in 2019, they qualified for the European Championship B-Pool. These achievements might not seem impressive compared to other countries, but they are significant for a team that is still developing.
I found on a podcast that the team - it's two years old though ...
