Snorkeling advice for Rhodes

I’m considering a trip to Rhodes, but I’m still in the early planning stages and gathering as much information as I can. One of my favorite activities on vacation is snorkeling, and I’ve heard Rhodes has some amazing spots for underwater exploration.

Can anyone recommend the best places to snorkel around the island? I’m looking for areas with clear water, vibrant marine life, and maybe even some unique underwater features like caves or rock formations. Are there any hidden gems or beaches that stand out for snorkeling?

Also, are there guided snorkeling tours worth checking out, or is it better to rent gear and explore on my own? Any tips for the best time of year to visit for calm, clear waters would also be super helpful. Thanks!

Ancient Kamiros: Worth Visiting?

I’m heading to Rhodes soon and putting together my list of historical sites to check out. I’ve got Lindos and the Old Town locked in, but I keep coming across Ancient Kamiros—and I’m torn on whether it’s worth the detour.

I’m into ancient ruins and Greek history, but I’ve already seen places like Knossos and Delphi, so I’m wondering how Kamiros compares. Is it well-preserved? Do you need a guide to really appreciate it, or is it still impressive if you go solo?

Also curious how long to budget for the visit—just a quick look or something you can really explore for a couple of hours?

Would love to hear your honest takes: is Kamiros worth the trip, or should I focus on other sites while I’m on the island? Thanks in advance!

Tips for Visiting the Rhodes Jewish Quarter

Hi everyone, I’m planning a trip to Rhodes and really want to explore the Jewish Quarter in the Old Town. I’ve heard it’s small but full of history, and I’d love to make the most of the visit.

If you’ve been, do you have any tips? Are there guided tours available, or is it better to explore on your own? I’m particularly interested in visiting the Kahal Shalom Synagogue and the Jewish Museum — how much time should I set aside for those?

Also, any interesting stories or historical context that really added depth to your visit? I’m trying to balance learning about the history with just soaking in the atmosphere.

Bonus points if you have any nearby spots for a coffee or bite to eat afterward!

Would appreciate any insights or suggestions — especially from anyone who’s visited recently. Thanks so much!

Films made on Rhodes

I have seen , The Guns of Navarone , Escape to Athens , Pascali's Island & High season . On TV an episode of Poirot called Triangle of Rhodes was filmed @ Kallithea Springs before its renovation .
Do you know of any more ?

Interesting Hiking Options on Rhodes?

I’ll be visiting Rhodes this summer, possibly in late July or August, and I’d love to do some hiking while I’m there. I know Rhodes has some beautiful landscapes, but I’m looking for recommendations on the best trails, especially ones with great views or historical significance.

Are there any must-do hikes that offer stunning coastal views, forested areas, or interesting ruins along the way? I’d also love to hear about any hidden gems that aren’t too crowded.

Since it’ll be quite hot, I’m wondering if there are any trails with some shade or ones that are best done early in the morning or late afternoon. Also, are there any hikes that end near a beach where I could cool off with a swim?
