I am having a hard time finding nonstop flights from Toronto to Athens. I would be traveling in September.

In the past, I always flew nonstop. However, this was before the pandemic. Any idea which airlines I should look at?

I have some flexibility with my travel dates. Any advice is appreciated.

Travel options have changed a bit due to the pandemic, but you can still find nonstop flights to Athens from Toronto at delta online. Or, you can check out airlines like Air Canada, Aegean Airlines, or Air Transat. Flexibility with your travel dates can be a plus. Safe travels, and enjoy your trip to Athens!

I flew from Toronto to Athens last summer on Air Canada—direct flight, super straightforward. If you're in the middle of researching and need to build a trip checklist or even a quick travel blog, I used https://duckwebdesign.com/ to throw together a site—really easy to use and helpful for organizing stuff like flight info, hotel bookings, and local tips in one place.

Is the Acropolis Museum Worth It?

I might be planning another trip to Athens and, oddly enough, I've never actually visited the Acropolis Museum. Every time I've been there, I've spent most of my time exploring the Acropolis itself, wandering through Plaka, or fitting in other sites, and somehow the museum has always ended up getting skipped.

This time I'm wondering if I should finally make time for it. I've heard great things, but I'm curious whether it's something that really adds to the experience of visiting the Acropolis or if it's better suited for people who are especially interested in archaeology and history.

For those of you who have been, did you feel it was one of the highlights of Athens? How much time would you recommend setting aside, and is there anything in particular that really stood out to you?

Best Places for Sunset in Athens?

I realized recently that even though I visit Athens about once a year, I’ve never actually paid attention to the sunset there. I don’t have a trip planned at the moment, I’m just gathering ideas for the future, but now I’m curious about the best places in the city to watch the sun go down.

Are there classic spots locals love? I’ve heard of Lycabettus Hill and some rooftop bars, but I’m sure there are lesser-known viewpoints, coastal areas, or even neighborhood corners that offer beautiful light in the evening. I’d also love to know if certain places are better at different times of year or if the atmosphere changes depending on whether you’re in the center or closer to the Athens Riviera.

If you had to recommend your favorite places for a memorable sunset in Athens, where would you send someone who’s finally ready to pay attention?

Best Athens Restaurants with Acropolis Views?

I’ve been to Athens many times over the years, but one thing I never get tired of is a great meal paired with an Acropolis view. I’ve already been to a few of the classic spots, but for my next trip I’d love to branch out and try something new, maybe somewhere a little unexpected, or a place locals actually enjoy as much as visitors.

I’m open to anything: modern Greek, traditional tavernas, rooftop bars with small plates, or even hotels with great terraces that allow non-guests. What are your favorite restaurants in Athens with Acropolis views?

Is the area near Syntagma a convenient place to stay?

I may be taking a last-minute trip to Athens sometime in September or October, and I’m starting to look at hotel options. I keep seeing places near Syntagma Square, and I’m wondering whether that is a convenient area to stay.

I like the idea of being central and able to walk to a lot of the main sights, restaurants, and neighborhoods, but I also don’t want to stay somewhere that feels overly busy or touristy all the time. How easy is it to get around from Syntagma, especially to places like Plaka, Monastiraki, the Acropolis, and other parts of central Athens?

I’d also love to know what the area feels like in the evenings. Is it a good choice for someone who wants convenience and walkability, or would you recommend staying in a nearby neighborhood instead?

Any hotel-area suggestions would be appreciated too.

How walkable is Athens?

I’m thinking about visiting Athens this year and trying to figure out how easy it is to get around on foot. I usually prefer walking when I travel, especially in cities where you can explore neighborhoods naturally without relying too much on transportation.

How walkable is Athens overall? Are the main areas like Plaka, Monastiraki, and the Acropolis close enough to each other to comfortably walk between them, or is it more spread out than it looks?

I’m also wondering where it makes the most sense to stay if I want to rely mostly on walking. Would it still be worth using the metro, or even renting a car, or is that unnecessary for a short trip?
